Efrayim surrounded with falsehood, and the house of Yisra'el with deceit; and Yehudah still rules with Elohim, and with the holy ones is faithful.

Efrayim shepherds wind, and pursues the east wind; all the day he multiplies falsehood and destruction; and a covenant with Ashshur they make, and oil to Mitsrayim is brought.

And יהוה has a dispute with Yehudah, and to visit Ya'aqov according to his ways; according to his deeds he will repay him.

In the womb he grasped his brother's heel, and in his strength he strove with Elohim.

And he strove with the mal'akh and prevailed; he wept and pleaded with him; there he found him in Bet-El, and there he spoke with us.

And יהוה Elohei HaTzva'ot, יהוה is his memorial.

And you, by your Elohim, return; keep lovingkindness and justice, and wait for your Elohim continually.

Kena'an, in his hand are scales of deceit; to oppress he loves.

And Efrayim said, 'Surely I have become rich, I have found wealth for myself; all my labor will not find for me iniquity which is sin.'

And I am יהוה your Elohim from the land of Mitsrayim; still I will cause you to dwell in tents, like the days of a festival.

And I spoke to the prophets, and I multiplied visions, and by the hand of the prophets I gave parables.

If Gil'ad is iniquity, surely they are vanity; in Gilgal, they sacrificed bulls; also their altars are like mounds on the furrows of the field.

And Ya'aqov fled the field of Aram, and Yisra'el served for a wife, and for a wife he kept watch.

And by a prophet יהוה brought Yisra'el up from Mitsrayim, and by a prophet he was kept.

Efrayim provoked bitterness, and his bloodguilt he will leave upon him, and his reproach his Adonai will return to him.
