And Yosef came and told Phar'oh, and said, My father and my brothers and their flocks and their herds and all that they have have come from the land of Kena'an, and behold, they are in the land of Goshen.

And from the end of his brothers, he took five men and presented them before Phar'oh.

And Phar'oh said to his brothers, What is your work? And they said to Phar'oh, Shepherds of flocks are your servants, both we and our fathers.

And they said to Phar'oh, To sojourn in the land we have come, for there is no pasture for the flocks which are your servants, for the famine is severe in the land of Kena'an. And now, let your servants dwell in the land of Goshen.

And Phar'oh said to Yosef, saying, Your father and your brothers have come to you.

The land of Mitsrayim is before you; in the best of the land, settle your father and your brothers; they shall dwell in the land of Goshen. And if you know there are men of capability among them, then you shall appoint them overseers of my livestock.

And Yosef brought Ya'aqov his father and stood him before Phar'oh, and Ya'aqov blessed Phar'oh.

And Phar'oh said to Ya'aqov, How many are the days of the years of your life?

And Ya'aqov said to Phar'oh, The days of the years of my sojournings are one hundred and thirty years; few and bad have been the days of the years of my life, and they have not reached the days of the years of the lives of my fathers in the days of their sojournings.

And Ya'aqov blessed Phar'oh and went out from before Phar'oh.

And Yosef settled his father and his brothers and gave them possession in the land of Mitsrayim, in the best of the land, in the land of Ra'amses, as Phar'oh commanded.

And Yosef sustained his father and his brothers and all the house of his father with bread, according to the little ones.

And there was no bread in all the land, for the famine was very severe, and the land of Mitsrayim and the land of Kena'an languished because of the famine.

And Yosef gathered all the silver that was found in the land of Mitsrayim and in the land of Kena'an for the grain which they were buying, and Yosef brought the silver into the house of Phar'oh.

And the silver ran out from the land of Mitsrayim and from the land of Kena'an, and all Mitsrayim came to Yosef, saying, Give us bread, and why should we die before you, for the silver is gone?

And Yosef said, Give your livestock, and I will give you [bread] for your livestock, if the silver is gone.

And they brought their livestock to Yosef, and Yosef gave them bread for the horses and for the flocks of sheep and for the herds of cattle and for the donkeys, and he sustained them with bread for all their livestock in that year.

And that year ended, and they came to him in the second year and said to him, We will not conceal from my Adonai, that the silver is finished, and the livestock belong to my Adonai; nothing is left before my Adonai except our bodies and our land.

Why should we die before your eyes, both we and our land? Buy us and our land for bread, and we and our land will become servants to Phar'oh, and give seed, and we will live and not die, and the land will not become desolate.

And Yosef bought all the land of Mitsrayim for Phar'oh, for the Mitsrites sold each his field, because the famine was strong upon them, and the land became Phar'oh's.

And the people he moved into the cities, from one end of the border of Mitsrayim to the other end.

Only the land of the priests he did not buy, for there was a provision for the priests from Phar'oh, and they ate their provision which Phar'oh gave them; therefore, they did not sell their land.

And Yosef said to the people, Behold, I have bought you today and your land for Phar'oh; behold, here is seed for you, and you shall sow the land.

And it shall be, at the harvests, you shall give a fifth to Phar'oh, and four parts shall be for you, for seed for the field and for your food and for those in your houses and for food for your little ones.

And they said, You have saved our lives! We have found favor in the eyes of my Adonai, and we will be servants to Phar'oh.

And Yosef made it a statute for the land of Mitsrayim for Phar'oh, a fifth; only the land of the priests alone was not Phar'oh's.

And Yisra'el dwelt in the land of Mitsrayim, in the land of Goshen, and they took possession there, and they were fruitful and multiplied greatly.

And Ya'aqov lived in the land of Mitsrayim seventeen years, and the days of Ya'aqov, the years of his life, were one hundred and forty-seven years.

And the days of Yisra'el drew near to die, and he called his son Yosef and said to him, If now I have found favor in your eyes, please place your hand under my thigh and do with me kindness and truth; please do not bury me in Mitsrayim.

And I will lie down with my fathers, and you shall carry me out of Mitsrayim and bury me in their burial place. And he said, I will do according to your word.

And he said, Swear to me. And he swore to him. And Yisra'el bowed down at the head of the bed.
