Ya'aqov lifted his eyes and saw, and behold, 'Esav was coming, and with him four hundred men. And he divided the children to Le'ah and to Raḥel and to the two female servants.

And he put the female servants and their children first, and Le'ah and her children after, and Raḥel and Yosef last.

And he passed before them, and he bowed himself to the ground seven times until he came near his brother.

And 'Esav ran to meet him, and he embraced him, and he fell on his neck, and he kissed him, and they wept.

And he lifted his eyes and saw the women and the children, and he said, 'Who are these to you?' And he said, 'The children whom Elohim has favored your servant.'

And the female servants, they and their children, came near, and they bowed themselves.

And Le'ah and her children also came near, and they bowed themselves. And afterward Yosef and Raḥel came near, and they bowed themselves.

And he said, 'Who is all this camp to you that I have met?' And he said, 'To find favor in the eyes of my master.'

And 'Esav said, 'I have much, my brother; let what is yours be yours.'

And Ya'aqov said, 'Please, no. If I have found favor in your eyes, then take my gift from my hand, because for this reason I have seen your face as seeing the face of Elohim, and you have accepted me.'

Please take my blessing which has been brought to you, because Elohim has favored me, and because I have everything.' And he urged him, and he took it.

And he said, 'Let us set out and go, and I will go before you.'

And Ya'aqov said to him, 'My master knows that the children are tender, and the sheep and the cattle with young are driving me, and if they are driven hard one day, all the sheep will die.'

Please let my master pass on before his servant, and I will move along slowly, according to the pace of the work before me and according to the pace of the children, until I come to my master in Se'ir.

And 'Esav said, 'Please let me leave with me some of the people who are with me.' And he said, 'Why this? Let me find favor in the eyes of my master.'

And 'Esav returned on that day to his way, to Se'ir.

And Ya'aqov journeyed to Sukkot, and he built himself a house, and for his livestock he made shelters. Because of this, he named the place Sukkot.

And Ya'aqov came in peace to the city of Shekem, which is in the land of Kena'an, when he came from Padan-Aram, and he encamped before the city.

And he bought the portion of the field where he had pitched his tent from the hand of the sons of Ḥamor, the father of Shekem, for one hundred qesitah.

And he set up an altar there, and he called it El, the Elohim of Yisra'el.
