And he heard the words of the sons of Lavan, saying, Ya'aqov has taken all that belongs to our father, and from what belongs to our father he has made all this glory.

And Ya'aqov saw the face of Lavan, and behold, he was not with him as yesterday, the day before.

And יהוה said to Ya'aqov, Return to the land of your fathers and to your birthplace, and I will be with you.

And Ya'aqov sent and called for Raḥel and for Le'ah to the field, to his flock.

And he said to them, I see the face of your father, that he is not with me as yesterday, the day before, and the Elohim of my father was with me.

And you know that with all my strength I have worked for your father.

And your father has deceived me and changed my wages ten times, and Elohim did not permit him to do evil against me.

If he says thus, 'The spotted ones will be your wages,' then all the flock bore spotted ones. And if he says thus, 'The streaked ones will be your wages,' then all the flock bore streaked ones.

And Elohim took away the livestock of your father and gave them to me.

And it happened at the time when the flock was mating, and I lifted my eyes and saw in a dream, and behold, the male goats mounting the flock were streaked, spotted, and mottled.

And the angel of Elohim said to me in a dream, Ya'aqov. And I said, Here I am.

And he said, Lift up now your eyes and see all the male goats mounting the flock; they are streaked, spotted, and mottled, because I have seen all that Lavan is doing to you.

I am the El of Beit-El, where you anointed a pillar, where you vowed a vow to me. Now arise, go out from this land, and return to the land of your birth.

And Raḥel and Le'ah answered and said to him, Do we still have a portion and an inheritance in our father's house?

Has he not treated us as foreigners? For he has sold us, and he has also completely eaten our money.

For all the wealth that Elohim took from our father, it is ours and our children's. And now, do everything that Elohim has told you.

And Ya'aqov arose and took his sons and his wives on the camels.

And he drove all his livestock and all his possessions which he had acquired, the livestock of his acquisition which he had acquired in Padan-Aram, to go to Yitsḥaq his father, to the land of Kena'an.

And Lavan went to shear his sheep, and Raḥel stole the teraphim that belonged to her father.

And Ya'aqov stole the heart of Lavan the Aramean, by not telling him that he was fleeing.

And he fled, and all that belonged to him, and he arose and crossed the river, and set his face toward the mountain of Gil'ad.

And it was told to Lavan on the third day that Ya'aqov had fled.

And he took his brothers with him and pursued after him for seven days, and he overtook him in the mountain of Gil'ad.

And Elohim came to Lavan the Aramean in a dream by night, and said to him, Take care that you do not speak to Ya'aqov, from good to bad.

And Lavan overtook Ya'aqov, and Ya'aqov pitched his tent in the mountain, and Lavan pitched his tents with his brothers in the mountain of Gil'ad.

And Lavan said to Ya'aqov, What have you done, that you have stolen my heart and led away my daughters like captives of the sword?

Why did you hide yourself to flee, and steal me, and not tell me? And I would have sent you away with joy and with songs, with tambourine and with lyre.

And you did not permit me to kiss my sons and my daughters. Now you have acted foolishly.

El has the power in my hand to do evil against you, and the Elohim of your father spoke to me last night, saying, Take care that you do not speak to Ya'aqov, from good to bad.

And now, you have indeed gone, because you have longed greatly for your father's house. Why have you stolen my elohim?

And Ya'aqov answered and said to Lavan, Because I was afraid, for I said, Lest you take your daughters from me by force.

With whomever you find your elohim, he shall not live. Before our brothers, identify what is with me, and take it for yourself. And Ya'aqov did not know that Raḥel had stolen them.

And Lavan went into Ya'aqov's tent, and into Le'ah's tent, and into the tent of the two handmaids, and he did not find them. And he went out of Le'ah's tent and went into Raḥel's tent.

And Raḥel took the teraphim and put them in the camel's saddle, and sat on them. And Lavan searched all the tent, and did not find them.

And she said to her father, May it not be evil in the eyes of my master, that I cannot rise from before you, for the way of women is with me. And he searched, and did not find the teraphim.

And Ya'aqov was angry and contended with Lavan. And Ya'aqov answered and said to Lavan, What is my offense? What is my sin, that you have pursued after me?

For you have searched all my belongings, what have you found of all your household's belongings? Place it here before my brothers and your brothers, and let them decide between us two.

These twenty years I have been with you; your ewes and your she-goats have not miscarried, and I have not eaten the rams of your flock.

What was torn by a wild animal I did not bring to you; I paid for it. From my hand you would demand it, whether stolen by day or stolen by night.

I was by day, heat consumed me, and frost by night, and my sleep fled from my eyes.

For twenty years I have been in your house; I served you fourteen years for your two daughters and six years for your flock, and you changed my wages ten times.

If the Elohim of my father, the Elohim of Avraham, and the dread of Yitsḥaq had not been with me, surely now you would have sent me away empty. My hardship and the labor of my hands Elohim saw and judged truthfully.

And Lavan answered and said to Ya'aqov, The daughters are my daughters, and the sons are my sons, and the flock is my flock, and all that you see is mine and my daughters'. What can I do to these today, or to their children whom they bore?

And now, come, let us make a covenant, I and you, and let it be a witness between me and you.

And Ya'aqov took a stone and set it up as a pillar.

And Ya'aqov said to his kinsmen, Gather stones. And they took stones and made a heap, and they ate there on the heap.

And Lavan called its name Yegar-Sahadutha, and Ya'aqov called its name Gal'ed.

And Lavan said, This heap is a witness between me and you today. Therefore its name was called Gal'ed.

And the watchtower, because יהוה watches between me and you, since each has hidden himself from his neighbor.

If you afflict my daughters, or if you take wives besides my daughters, there is no man with us. Behold, Elohim is a witness between me and you.

And Lavan said to Ya'aqov, Behold, this heap and behold, this pillar which I have set up between me and you.

This heap is a witness, and this pillar is a witness, that I will not pass over this heap to you for evil, and that you will not pass over to me this heap and this pillar for evil.

The Elohim of Avraham and the Elohim of Naḥor, the Elohim of their father, shall judge between us. And Ya'aqov swore by the dread of his father Yitsḥaq.

And Ya'aqov sacrificed a sacrifice on the mountain, and called his kinsmen to eat bread. And they ate bread and lodged on the mountain.
