And it happened after these matters, and Elohim tested Avraham. And he said to him, 'Avraham.' And he said, 'Here I am.'

And he said, 'Take now your son, your only one whom you love, Yitsḥaq, and go for yourself to the land of Moriah, and offer him up there for a burnt offering on one of the mountains which I will tell you.'

And Avraham got up in the morning, and saddled his donkey, and took with him his two young men, and Yitsḥaq his son, and he split the wood for the burnt offering, and he arose and went to the place which Elohim had told him.

On the third day, and Avraham lifted his eyes, and saw the place from afar.

And Avraham said to his young men, 'Stay here for yourselves with the donkey, and I and the youth will go until here, and we will bow down, and we will return to you.'

And Avraham took the wood for the burnt offering, and laid it on Yitsḥaq his son, and he took in his hand the fire and the knife, and the two of them went together.

And Yitsḥaq spoke to Avraham his father, and he said, 'My father.' And he said, 'Here I am, my son.' And he said, 'Behold, the fire and the wood, and where is the lamb for a burnt offering?'

And Avraham said, 'Elohim will see for himself the lamb for a burnt offering, my son.' And the two of them went together.

And they came to the place which Elohim had told him, and Avraham built an altar there, and arranged the wood, and bound Yitsḥaq his son, and laid him on the altar, on top of the wood.

And Avraham sent out his hand, and took the knife to slaughter his son.

And the messenger of יהוה called to him from the heavens, and said, 'Avraham, Avraham.' And he said, 'Here I am.'

And he said, 'Do not send out your hand against the youth, and do not do anything to him, for now I know that you fear Elohim, and you did not withhold your son, your only one, from me.'

And Avraham lifted his eyes, and saw, and behold, a ram afterwards, caught in the thicket by its horns, and Avraham went and took the ram, and offered it up for a burnt offering in place of his son.

And Avraham called the name of that place יהוה-yireh, which will be said today, 'On the mountain יהוה will be seen.'

And the messenger of יהוה called to Avraham a second time from the heavens.

And he said, 'By myself I have sworn, says יהוה, because you have done this thing, and you have not withheld your son, your only one.'

For indeed I will bless you, and indeed I will greatly multiply your offspring like the stars of the heavens, and like the sand which is on the seashore, and your offspring will possess the gate of his enemies.

And in your offspring all the nations of the earth will be blessed, because you listened to my voice.'

And Avraham returned to his young men, and they arose and went together to Beersheba, and Avraham stayed in Beersheba.

And it happened after these matters, and it was told to Avraham, saying, 'Behold, Milcah has also borne sons to Nahor your brother.'

Uz his firstborn, and Buz his brother, and Kemuel father of Aram.

And Chesed, and Hazo, and Pildash, and Jidlaph, and Bethuel.

And Bethuel fathered Rebekah. These eight Milcah bore to Nahor, Avraham's brother.

And his concubine, and her name was Reumah, and she also bore Tebah, and Gaham, and Tahash, and Maacah.
