And יהוה remembered Sarah as he had spoken, and יהוה did for Sarah as he had said.

And Sarah conceived and bore to Avraham a son in his old age, at the appointed time which Elohim had told him.

And Avraham named his son who was born to him, whom Sarah bore, Yitsḥaq.

And Avraham circumcised Yitsḥaq his son, eight days old, as Elohim commanded him.

And Avraham was one hundred years old when Yitsḥaq his son was born to him.

And Sarah said, "Laughter has Elohim made for me; everyone who hears will laugh with me."

And she said, "Who would have told Avraham, 'Sarah will nurse sons'? For I have borne him a son in his old age."

And the boy grew and was weaned, and Avraham made a great feast on the day Yitsḥaq was weaned.

And Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Mitsrite, whom she had borne to Avraham, mocking.

And she said to Avraham, "Cast out this slave woman and her son, for the son of this slave woman will not inherit with my son, with Yitsḥaq."

And the matter was very displeasing in the eyes of Avraham concerning his son.

And Elohim said to Avraham, "Let it not be displeasing in your eyes concerning the boy and concerning your slave woman; whatever Sarah says to you, listen to her voice, for through Yitsḥaq your offspring will be called.

And also the son of the slave woman, I will make him into a great nation, for he is your offspring."

And Avraham rose early in the morning, and took bread and a skin of water, and gave it to Hagar, placing it on her shoulder, and the boy, and sent her away. And she went and wandered in the wilderness of Beer Sheva.

And the water ran out of the skin, and she cast the boy under one of the bushes.

And she went and sat herself down opposite him, a bowshot away, for she said, "Let me not see the death of the boy." And she sat opposite him and lifted up her voice and wept.

And Elohim heard the voice of the boy, and a messenger of Elohim called to Hagar from the heavens and said to her, "What is wrong with you, Hagar? Do not fear, for Elohim has heard the voice of the boy where he is."

Rise, lift up the boy, and hold your hand to him, for I will make him into a great nation."

And Elohim opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water, and she went and filled the skin with water and gave the boy a drink.

And Elohim was with the boy, and he grew, and he lived in the wilderness, and he became an archer.

And he lived in the wilderness of Paran, and his mother took for him a wife from the land of Mitsrayim.

And it came to pass at that time, that Avimelekh and Phikhol, the commander of his army, spoke to Avraham, saying, "Elohim is with you in all that you do."

And now, swear to me here by Elohim that you will not deal falsely with me, nor with my son, nor with my grandson; according to the kindness which I have shown you, you shall do to me and to the land in which you are a sojourner."

And Avraham said, "I will swear."

And Avraham reproached Avimelekh concerning a well of water, which the servants of Avimelekh had seized.

And Avimelekh said, "I do not know who did this thing, and you did not tell me, and I also did not hear, except today."

And Avraham took sheep and cattle and gave them to Avimelekh, and the two of them made a covenant.

And Avraham set apart the seven ewe lambs of the flock by themselves.

And Avimelekh said to Avraham, "What are these seven ewe lambs which you have set apart by themselves?"

And he said, "For you shall take these seven ewe lambs from my hand, so that it may be a witness for me that I dug this well."

Therefore he called that place Beer Sheva, because there the two of them swore.

And they made a covenant at Beer Sheva, and Avimelekh and Phikhol, the commander of his army, rose up and returned to the land of the Pelishtim.

And he planted a tamarisk tree in Beer Sheva, and there he called on the name of יהוה, the Everlasting Elohim.

And Avraham sojourned in the land of the Pelishtim many days.
