And he cried in my ears with a great voice, saying, Draw near, you visitors of the city, and each man his weapon of destruction in his hand.

And behold, six men were coming from the direction of the upper gate, which faces north, and each man a tool of shattering in his hand, and one man among them clothed in linen, and a scribe's inkhorn at his waist. And they came and stood by the bronze altar.

And the glory of the Elohim of Yisra'el rose up from above the cherub on which it was, to the threshold of the house. And he called to the man clothed in linen, who had the scribe's inkhorn at his waist.

And יהוה said to him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Yerushalayim, and you shall mark a mark on the foreheads of the men who are groaning and sighing over all the abominations being done in its midst.

And to these he said in my ears, Go through the city after him, and strike; your eyes shall not pity, and you shall not spare.

Old man, young man, and virgin, and child, and women, you shall kill for destruction, and upon every man who has the mark, you shall not approach, and from my sanctuary you shall begin. And they began with the old men who were before the house.

And he said to them, Defile the house, and fill the courtyards with slain. Go out. And they went out and struck in the city.

And it happened as they were striking, and I was left, and I fell on my face, and I cried out, and I said, Alas, Adonai יהוה, are you destroying all the remnant of Yisra'el by pouring out your fury on Yerushalayim?

And he said to me, The iniquity of the house of Yisra'el and Yehudah is exceedingly great, exceedingly, and the land is filled with blood, and the city is filled with injustice, because they said, יהוה has forsaken the land, and יהוה does not see.

And also, my eye shall not pity, nor shall I spare; their way I have put on their heads.

And behold, the man clothed in linen, who had the inkhorn at his waist, brought back word, saying, I have done according to all that you commanded me.
