And the word of יהוה came to me, saying:

Son of man, two women were daughters of one mother.

And they prostituted themselves in Mitsrayim, in their youth they prostituted; there they crushed their breasts, and there they pressed their virgin breasts.

And their names were Oholah the elder and Oholibah her sister, and they became mine, and they bore sons and daughters. And their names: Shomron is Oholah, and Yerushalayim is Oholibah.

And Oholah prostituted herself under me, and she lusted after her lovers, after the Ashshurites, neighbors.

Clothed in blue, officials and rulers, all desirable young men, horsemen, riders of horses.

And she gave her prostitutions to them, the choice of the sons of Ashshur, all of them; and by all whom she lusted, by all their idols she became defiled.

And her prostitutions from Mitsrayim she did not leave, for they lay with her in her youth, and they pressed her virgin breasts, and they poured out their prostitution upon her.

Therefore I gave her into the hand of her lovers, into the hand of the sons of Ashshur, after whom she lusted.

They uncovered her nakedness; her sons and her daughters they took, and her they killed with the sword; and she became a name among women, and judgments they executed upon her.

And her sister Oholibah saw, and she corrupted her lust more than she, and her prostitutions more than the prostitutions of her sister.

After the sons of Ashshur she lusted, officials and rulers, neighbors clothed in splendor, horsemen, riders of horses, all desirable young men.

And I saw that the way of both of them was defiled.

And she added to her prostitutions, and she saw men engraved on the wall, images of Kasdim, engraved in jasper.

Girded with sashes at their waists, flowing robes on their heads, the appearance of high officials, all of them, the likeness of the sons of Babel, Kasdim, the land of their birth.

And she lusted after them at the sight of her eyes, and she sent messengers to them, to Kasdim.

And the sons of Babel came to her for the bed of lovers, and they defiled her with their prostitution, and she became defiled by them, and her soul was estranged from them.

And she exposed her prostitutions and exposed her nakedness, and my soul was estranged from her, as my soul was estranged from her sister.

And she multiplied her prostitutions, remembering the days of her youth when she prostituted herself in the land of Mitsrayim.

And she lusted after their paramours, whose flesh was like the flesh of donkeys, and whose seed was like the seed of horses.

And you remembered the lewdness of your youth, when you were fondled in Mitsrayim, for the breasts of your youth.

Therefore, Oholibah, thus says Adonai יהוה, behold, I will stir up your lovers against you, those from whom your soul is estranged, and I will bring them against you from all around.

The sons of Babel and all Kasdim, Pekod, Shoa, Koa, and all the sons of Ashshur with them, desirable young men, officials and rulers, all of them, high officials and renowned, all horsemen.

And they will come against you with chariots, wagons, and a multitude of peoples; they will set shield and buckler and helmet against you all around; and I will set judgment before them, and they will judge you by their judgments.

And I will set my jealousy against you, and they will deal with you in fury; they will take away your nose and your ears, and your remnant will fall by the sword; they will take your sons and your daughters, and your remnant will be devoured by fire.

And they will strip you of your clothes and take your beautiful ornaments.

And I will put an end to your lewdness from you, and your prostitution from the land of Mitsrayim, and you will not lift your eyes to them, nor will you remember Mitsrayim anymore.

For thus says Adonai יהוה, behold, I will give you into the hand of those whom you hate, into the hand of those from whom your soul is estranged.

And they will deal with you with hatred, and they will take all your labor, and they will leave you naked and bare, and the nakedness of your prostitution and your lewdness will be revealed.

These things will be done to you because of your prostitution, because you followed after nations, because you became defiled by their idols.

You have walked in the way of your sister, and I will put her cup into your hand.

Thus says Adonai יהוה: You will drink your sister's cup, the deep and wide one; it will be for laughter and derision, a great capacity to hold.

You will be filled with drunkenness and sorrow, the cup of your sister Shomron, the cup of devastation and ruin.

And you will drink it and drain it, and you will gnaw its shards, and you will tear off your breasts, for I have spoken, declares Adonai יהוה.

Therefore, thus says Adonai יהוה: Because you have forgotten me and cast me behind your back, you shall also bear your lewdness and your prostitutions.

And יהוה said to me: Son of man, will you judge Oholah and Oholibah? Then declare to them their abominations.

For they committed adultery, and blood is on their hands, and they committed adultery with their idols, and they even offered their children whom they bore to me as food.

Moreover, they have done this to me: they defiled my sanctuary on that day and profaned my Sabbaths.

And when they slaughtered their children to their idols, they came into my sanctuary on that day to profane it, and behold, thus they did in the midst of my house.

And even when they sent for men coming from afar, to whom a messenger was sent, and behold, they came; for whom you washed, and painted your eyes, and adorned yourself with ornaments.

And you sat on a distinguished bed, and a table prepared before it, and my incense and my oil you placed upon it.

And the sound of a peaceful multitude was in her, and to men from a great crowd, Sabeans were brought from the desert, and they put bracelets on their hands and a crown of splendor on their heads.

And I said to the aged one, 'Now they will prostitute, her prostitutions,' and she.

And they came to her like one comes to a prostitute woman, so they came to Oholah and to Oholibah, women of lewdness.

And righteous men, they will judge them with the judgment of adulteresses and with the judgment of those who shed blood, for they are adulteresses, and blood is on their hands.

For thus says Adonai יהוה: Bring up a crowd against them, and give them for terror and plunder.

And the crowd will stone them, and cut them down with their swords; their sons and their daughters they will kill, and their houses they will burn with fire.

And I will put an end to lewdness from the land, and all women will be disciplined, and they will not do according to your lewdness.

And they will lay your lewdness upon you, and you will bear the sins of your idols, and you will know that I am Adonai יהוה.
