And the word of יהוה came to me, saying:

And you, son of Adam, will you judge? Will you judge the city of bloodsheds, and you will make known to her all her abominations?

And you will say, Thus says Adonai יהוה: City shedding blood within her, her time has come, and she has made idols for herself for impurity.

In your blood which you have shed, you have become guilty, and by your idols which you have made, you have become impure. And you have brought near your days, and you have come to your years. Therefore, I have given you a reproach to the nations, and a mockery to all the lands.

Those near and those far from you will mock you, the impure of name, greatly disturbed.

Behold, the princes of Yisra'el, each according to his arm, have been in you for the purpose of shedding blood.

Father and mother they have made light of in you; the sojourner they have wronged in you; the orphan and the widow they have oppressed in you.

My holy things you have despised, and my Sabbaths you have profaned.

Men of slander have been in you for the purpose of shedding blood, and to the mountains they have eaten in you; lewdness they have done within you.

The nakedness of a father they have uncovered in you; the impurity of the menstruous woman they have afflicted in you.

And a man with the wife of his neighbor has done an abomination, and a man with his daughter-in-law has defiled with lewdness, and a man with his sister, his father's daughter, has afflicted in you.

Bribes they have taken in you for the purpose of shedding blood; usury and increase they have taken, and you have gained from your neighbors by oppression, and me you have forgotten, says Adonai יהוה.

And behold, I have struck my hand at your greed which you have done, and at your blood which has been within you.

Will your heart stand, or will your hands be strong in the days that I am doing to you? I, יהוה, have spoken and I will do.

And I will scatter you among the nations, and I will disperse you in the lands, and I will remove your impurity from you.

And you will be profaned in yourself in the eyes of nations, and you will know that I am יהוה.

And the word of יהוה came to me, saying:

Son of Adam, the house of Yisra'el has become dross to me; all of them are copper, and tin, and iron, and lead in the midst of a furnace; they were dross.

Therefore, thus says Adonai יהוה: Because you have all become dross, therefore, behold, I am gathering you into the midst of Yerushalayim.

A gathering of silver, and copper, and iron, and lead, and tin into the midst of a furnace to blow fire upon it to melt; thus I will gather in my anger and in my wrath, and I will lay you down and melt you within it.

And I will gather you, and I will blow upon you with the fire of my wrath, and you will be melted within it.

As silver is melted in the midst of a furnace, so you will be melted within it, and you will know that I, יהוה, have poured out my wrath upon you.

And the word of יהוה came to me, saying:

Son of Adam, say to her: You are a land not purified, not rained upon in the day of wrath.

A conspiracy of her prophets is within her, like a roaring lion, tearing prey; they have eaten sustenance and precious things; her widows they have multiplied within her.

Her priests have done violence to my law, and they have profaned my holy things; between the holy and the common they have not distinguished, and between the impure and the pure they have not made known, and from my Sabbaths they have hidden their eyes, and I was profaned in their midst.

Her princes are in her midst like wolves tearing prey, to shed blood, to destroy lives, to gain profit by greed.

And her prophets have daubed for themselves with whitewash, seeing vanity and divining for themselves falsehood, saying, Thus says Adonai יהוה, and יהוה has not spoken.

The people of the land have practiced oppression and committed robbery, and the poor and the needy they have oppressed, and the sojourner they have oppressed without justice.

And I sought from them a man who would build a wall, and stand in the breach before me on behalf of the land, so that I would not destroy it, and I found none.

And I poured out my indignation upon them; with the fire of my wrath I consumed them; I have put their way upon their heads, says Adonai יהוה.
