And you, lift up a lament over the princes of Yisra'el.

And his widows he knew, and their cities he devastated; and the land became desolate, and it was filled from the sound of his roaring.

And they put him in a cage, in chains, and they brought him to the king of Bavel; they brought him in traps, so that his voice would no longer be heard on the mountains of Yisra'el.

Your mother was like a vine in your blood, planted by water; she was fruitful and had branches from abundant water.

And she had strong rods for the rule of governors, and her height rose above the thickets, and she was seen in her height among her many branches.

And she was plucked up in fury, thrown to the ground; and the east wind dried up her fruit; her strong rods were broken off and withered; fire consumed her.

And now she is planted in the desert, in a land of thirst and drought.

And fire came out from her branches, it consumed her fruit, and there was no longer a strong rod in her, a rod to rule; she is a lament, and she has become a lament.
