And afterward Mosheh and Aharon came and said to Par'oh, 'Thus says יהוה, the Elohim of Yisra'el: Let my people go that they may celebrate a festival to me in the wilderness.'

And Par'oh said, 'Who is יהוה that I should listen to his voice to let Yisra'el go? I do not know יהוה, and also Yisra'el I will not let go.'

And they said, 'The Elohim of the Hebrews has appeared to us. Let us go, please, a three-day journey into the wilderness, and let us sacrifice to יהוה our Elohim, lest he strike us with pestilence or with the sword.'

And the king of Mitsrayim said to them, 'Mosheh and Aharon, why do you disturb the people from their work? Go to your burdens.'

And Par'oh said, 'Behold, the people of the land are now many, and you make them cease from their burdens.'

And Par'oh commanded on that day the taskmasters of the people and their officers, saying:

'You shall not continue to give straw to the people for making bricks as yesterday and the day before. They themselves shall go and gather straw for themselves.'

'And the quota of bricks which they were making yesterday and the day before, you shall set upon them. You shall not reduce from it, because they are lazy. Therefore they cry out, saying, 'Let us go, let us sacrifice to our Elohim.''

'Let the work be heavy on the men, and let them do it, and let them not pay attention to lying words.'

And the taskmasters of the people and their officers went out and said to the people, saying, 'Thus says Par'oh: I am not giving you straw.'

'You go, get yourselves straw from wherever you find it, for none of your work is reduced.'

And the people scattered throughout all the land of Mitsrayim to gather stubble for straw.

And the taskmasters urged them, saying, 'Complete your work, the daily amount, just as when there was straw.'

And the officers of the children of Yisra'el were beaten, whom Par'oh's taskmasters had set over them, saying, 'Why have you not completed your quota for making bricks as yesterday and the day before, both yesterday and today?'

And the officers of the children of Yisra'el came and cried out to Par'oh, saying, 'Why are you doing this to your servants?'

'Straw is not being given to your servants, and they say to us, 'Make bricks!' And behold, your servants are being beaten, and it is your people who are at fault.'

But he said, 'You are lazy! You are lazy! That is why you say, 'Let us go, let us sacrifice to יהוה.''

'So now, go, work, and straw will not be given to you, but you shall deliver the quota of bricks.'

And the officers of the children of Yisra'el saw that they were in a bad situation, saying, 'You shall not reduce from your bricks, the daily amount.'

And they met Mosheh and Aharon, who were standing to meet them as they came out from Par'oh.

And they said to them, 'May יהוה look upon you and judge, because you have made our odor offensive in the eyes of Par'oh and in the eyes of his servants, to put a sword in their hand to kill us.'

And Mosheh returned to יהוה and said, 'Adonai, why have you brought harm to this people? Why is it that you sent me?'

'And since I came to Par'oh to speak in your name, he has brought harm to this people, and you have not delivered your people at all.'
