And these are the judgments which you shall set before them.

If you buy a Hebrew male servant, six years he shall serve, and in the seventh he shall go out free, for nothing.

If he came in by himself, he shall go out by himself. If he was a husband to a wife, then his wife shall go out with him.

If his master gives him a wife, and she bears him sons or daughters, the wife and her children shall belong to her master, and he shall go out by himself.

But if the servant says, 'I love my master, my wife, and my children; I will not go out free.'

Then his master shall bring him to the judges, and he shall bring him to the door or to the doorpost, and his master shall pierce his ear with an awl, and he shall serve him forever.

And if a man sells his daughter as a female servant, she shall not go out as male servants go out.

If she is displeasing in the eyes of her master, to whom he betrothed her, then he shall allow her to be redeemed. To a foreign people he shall have no power to sell her, because he dealt treacherously with her.

And if he betroths her to his son, according to the custom of daughters he shall do for her.

If he takes another wife for himself, her food, her clothing, and her conjugal rights he shall not diminish.

And if he does not do these three things for her, then she shall go out free, without payment of money.

A man who strikes another man so that he dies shall surely be put to death.

But if he did not lie in wait, and Elohim allowed it to happen to his hand, then I will appoint for you a place to which he may flee.

And if a man acts with intent against his neighbor to kill him by cunning, from my altar you shall take him to die.

And whoever strikes his father or his mother shall surely be put to death.

And whoever steals a man and sells him, or if he is found in his hand, he shall surely be put to death.

And whoever curses his father or his mother shall surely be put to death.

And if men quarrel, and one strikes another with a stone or with his fist, and he does not die but takes to his bed,

If he gets up and walks around outside leaning on his staff, then the one who struck him shall be innocent. He shall only pay for his idleness and see that he is healed.

And if a man strikes his male servant or his female servant with a rod, and he dies under his hand, he shall surely be avenged.

However, if he survives a day or two, he shall not be avenged, because he is his property.

And if men fight, and strike a pregnant woman, and her children come out, and there is no harm, he shall surely be fined as the woman's husband imposes on him, and he shall pay through the judges.

But if there is harm, then you shall give life for life.

Eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.

Burn for burn, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.

And if a man strikes the eye of his male servant or the eye of his female servant, and destroys it, he shall let him go free for his eye's sake.

And if he knocks out the tooth of his male servant or the tooth of his female servant, he shall let him go free for his tooth's sake.

And if an ox gores a man or a woman to death, he shall surely be stoned, and his flesh shall not be eaten, and the owner of the ox shall be innocent.

But if the ox was a goring ox from the day before, and its owner was warned, and he did not guard it, and it kills a man or a woman, the ox shall be stoned, and its owner also shall be put to death.

If a ransom is laid on him, then he shall give as redemption for his life whatever is laid on him.

Whether son or daughter, according to this judgment it shall be done to him.

If the ox gores a male servant or a female servant, he shall give thirty shekels of silver to their master, and the ox shall be stoned.

And if a man opens a pit, or if a man digs a pit and does not cover it, and an ox or a donkey falls into it,

The owner of the pit shall pay; he shall give silver to its owner, and the dead animal shall be his.

And if a man's ox strikes his neighbor's ox so that it dies, then they shall sell the live ox and divide its price, and they shall also divide the dead animal.

Or if it was known that the ox was a goring ox from the day before, and its owner did not guard it, he shall surely pay ox for ox, and the dead animal shall be his.

If a man steals an ox or a sheep, and slaughters it or sells it, he shall pay five head of cattle for the ox, and four sheep for the sheep.
