And Yitro, priest of Midyan, Mosheh's father-in-law, heard all that Elohim did for Mosheh and for Yisra'el His people, how יהוה brought Yisra'el out of Mitsrayim.

And Yitro, Mosheh's father-in-law, took Tsiporah, Mosheh's wife, after her sending away.

And his two sons, of whom the name of the one was Gershom, for he said, 'A stranger I have become in a foreign land.'

And the name of the other was Eli'ezer, for 'The Elohim of my father, in my help, and He delivered me from the sword of Par'oh.'

And Yitro, Mosheh's father-in-law, and his sons and his wife came to Mosheh in the wilderness where he was encamped, the mountain of Elohim.

And he said to Mosheh, 'I, your father-in-law Yitro, am coming to you, and your wife, and her two sons with her.'

And Mosheh went out to meet his father-in-law, and he bowed down and kissed him, and they asked each other about peace, and they came into the tent.

And Mosheh told his father-in-law all that יהוה did to Par'oh and to Mitsrayim for the sake of Yisra'el, all the hardship that met them on the way, and how יהוה delivered them.

And Yitro rejoiced over all the good that יהוה had done for Yisra'el, that He had delivered them from the hand of Mitsrayim.

And Yitro said, 'Blessed be יהוה, who delivered you from the hand of Mitsrayim and from the hand of Par'oh, who delivered the people from under the hand of Mitsrayim.'

'Now I know that יהוה is greater than all elohim, for in the matter in which they acted arrogantly against them.'

And Yitro, Mosheh's father-in-law, took a burnt offering and sacrifices to Elohim, and Aharon and all the elders of Yisra'el came to eat bread with Mosheh's father-in-law before Elohim.

And it was the next day, and Mosheh sat to judge the people, and the people stood by Mosheh from morning until evening.

And Mosheh's father-in-law saw all that he was doing for the people, and he said, 'What is this thing that you are doing for the people? Why are you sitting alone, and all the people are standing by you from morning until evening?'

And Mosheh said to his father-in-law, 'Because the people come to me to inquire of Elohim.'

'When they have a matter, they come to me, and I judge between a man and his neighbor, and I make known the statutes of Elohim and His laws.'

And Mosheh's father-in-law said to him, 'The thing that you are doing is not good.'

'You will surely wear out, both you and this people who are with you, for the matter is too heavy for you; you are not able to do it alone.'

'Now listen to my voice; I will advise you, and may Elohim be with you. You be for the people before Elohim, and you bring the matters to Elohim.'

'And you shall warn them of the statutes and the laws, and you shall make known to them the way they shall walk in it, and the deeds they shall do.'

'And you shall look out from all the people for able men, fearing Elohim, men of truth, hating greed, and you shall place over them chiefs of thousands, chiefs of hundreds, chiefs of fifties, and chiefs of tens.'

'And they shall judge the people at all times, and it shall be that every great matter they shall bring to you, and every small matter they shall judge. And it will be lighter for you, and they will bear with you.'

'If you do this thing, and Elohim commands you, then you will be able to stand, and also all this people will come to their place in peace.'

And Mosheh listened to the voice of his father-in-law and did all that he said.

And Mosheh chose able men from all Yisra'el and gave them as heads over the people, chiefs of thousands, chiefs of hundreds, chiefs of fifties, and chiefs of tens.

And they judged the people at all times; the difficult matter they brought to Mosheh, and the small matter they judged themselves.

And Mosheh sent his father-in-law away, and he went to his land.
