And יהוה spoke to Mosheh, saying:

Consecrate to me every firstborn, opener of every womb, among the sons of Yisra'el, in man and in beast; it is mine.

And Mosheh said to the people, Remember this day, in which you went out from Mitsrayim, from the house of slaves, because with a strong hand יהוה brought you out from there, and leavened bread shall not be eaten.

Today you are going out, in the month of Aviv.

And it shall be, when יהוה brings you into the land of the Kena'ani, and the Ḥitti, and the Emori, and the Ḥivvi, and the Yevussi, which He swore to your fathers to give you, a land flowing with milk and honey, and you shall serve this service in this month.

Seven days you shall eat unleavened bread, and on the seventh day is a feast to יהוה.

Unleavened bread shall be eaten seven days, and leaven shall not be seen by you, and yeast shall not be seen by you in all your territory.

And you shall tell your son on that day, saying, Because of this, יהוה did for me when I went out from Mitsrayim.

And it shall be to you as a sign on your hand, and as a remembrance between your eyes, so that the teaching of יהוה may be in your mouth, because with a strong hand יהוה brought you out from Mitsrayim.

And you shall keep this statute at its appointed time, from day to day.

And it shall be, when יהוה brings you into the land of the Kena'ani, as He swore to you and to your fathers, and gives it to you,

and you shall set apart every opener of a womb to יהוה, and every firstborn of the offspring of beasts which you have, the males, to יהוה.

And every firstborn of a donkey you shall redeem with a lamb, and if you do not redeem it, then you shall break its neck. And every firstborn of man among your sons you shall redeem.

And it shall be, when your son asks you tomorrow, saying, What is this? And you shall say to him, With a strong hand יהוה brought us out from Mitsrayim, from the house of slaves.

And it was, when Pharaoh stubbornly refused to send us out, and יהוה killed every firstborn in the land of Mitsrayim, from the firstborn of man to the firstborn of beast. Therefore, I sacrifice to יהוה every opener of a womb, the males, and every firstborn of my sons I redeem.

And it shall be as a sign on your hand, and as frontlets between your eyes, because with a strong hand יהוה brought us out from Mitsrayim.

And it was, when Pharaoh let the people go, Elohim did not lead them by the way of the land of the Pelishtim, because it was near, because Elohim said, Lest the people reconsider when they see war, and they return to Mitsrayim.

And Elohim turned the people around by the way of the wilderness, the Sea of Reeds. And the sons of Yisra'el went up armed from the land of Mitsrayim.

And Mosheh took the bones of Yosef with him, because he had made the sons of Yisra'el swear, saying, Elohim will surely visit you, and you shall carry up my bones from here with you.

And they journeyed from Sukkot and encamped at Etam, at the edge of the wilderness.

And יהוה was going before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead them on the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, to go by day and by night.

The pillar of cloud did not depart by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people.
