And יהוה spoke to Mosheh and to Aharon in the land of Mitsrayim, saying:

This month is the head of months for you; it is the first for you of the months of the year.

Speak to all the assembly of Yisra'el, saying, 'On the tenth of this month, each man take a lamb for a household, a lamb for a household.'

And if the household is too small for a lamb, then he and his neighbor closest to his house shall take one according to the number of persons; according to each man's eating you shall count for the lamb.

Your lamb shall be a male, without blemish, a year old; you shall take it from the sheep or from the goats.

And it shall be kept by you until the fourteenth day of this month, and the whole assembly of the congregation of Yisra'el shall slaughter it between the evenings.

And they shall take some of the blood and put it on the two doorposts and on the lintel, on the houses in which they eat it.

And they shall eat the flesh on this night, roasted with fire, with unleavened bread; with bitter herbs they shall eat it.

You shall not eat any of it raw, or boiled in water, but roasted with fire—its head with its legs and with its inwards.

And you shall not leave any of it until morning, and what remains of it until morning you shall burn with fire.

And this is how you shall eat it: your loins girded, your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and you shall eat it in haste. It is a Passover offering to יהוה.

And I will pass through the land of Mitsrayim on this night, and I will strike every firstborn in the land of Mitsrayim, from man to beast; and against all the gods of Mitsrayim I will execute judgments. I am יהוה.

And the blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you are, and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and no plague shall be upon you to destroy you when I strike the land of Mitsrayim.

And this day shall be a memorial for you, and you shall celebrate it as a feast to יהוה throughout your generations; you shall celebrate it as an ordinance forever.

For seven days you shall eat unleavened bread; indeed, on the first day you shall put away leaven from your houses, for whoever eats leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that person shall be cut off from Yisra'el.

And on the first day there shall be a holy assembly, and on the seventh day a holy assembly; no work shall be done on them, except what must be eaten by every person—that alone may be prepared by you.

And you shall observe the unleavened bread, for on this very day I brought your hosts out of the land of Mitsrayim; therefore you shall observe this day throughout your generations as an ordinance forever.

In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month, in the evening, you shall eat unleavened bread until the twenty-first day of the month in the evening.

For seven days no leaven shall be found in your houses, for whoever eats anything leavened, that person shall be cut off from the congregation of Yisra'el, whether he is a sojourner or a native of the land.

You shall eat nothing leavened; in all your dwelling places you shall eat unleavened bread.

Then Mosheh called all the elders of Yisra'el and said to them, 'Draw out and take for yourselves lambs according to your families, and slaughter the Passover lamb.'

And you shall take a bunch of hyssop and dip it in the blood that is in the basin, and touch the lintel and the two doorposts with the blood that is in the basin; and none of you shall go out of the door of his house until morning.

For יהוה will pass through to strike the Mitsrites, and when he sees the blood on the lintel and on the two doorposts, יהוה will pass over the door, and will not allow the destroyer to come into your houses to strike you.

And you shall observe this thing as an ordinance for you and for your sons forever.

And when you come to the land that יהוה will give you, as he has promised, you shall observe this service.

And when your children say to you, 'What does this service mean to you?'

you shall say, 'It is the Passover sacrifice to יהוה, who passed over the houses of the sons of Yisra'el in Mitsrayim when he struck the Mitsrites and delivered our houses.' And the people bowed down and worshiped.

And the sons of Yisra'el went and did so; just as יהוה had commanded Mosheh and Aharon, so they did.

And at midnight יהוה struck every firstborn in the land of Mitsrayim, from the firstborn of Parʻoh who sat on his throne to the firstborn of the captive who was in the dungeon, and every firstborn of the livestock.

And Parʻoh rose up in the night, he and all his servants, and all the Mitsrites; and there was a great cry in Mitsrayim, for there was no house where there was not one dead.

Then he called for Mosheh and Aharon in the night and said, 'Rise up, go out from among my people, both you and the sons of Yisra'el, and go, serve יהוה as you have said.'

Take both your flocks and your herds, as you have said, and go; and bless me also.

And the Mitsrites urged the people to go out of the land quickly, for they said, 'We are all dead men.'

So the people took up their dough before it was leavened, their kneading bowls wrapped in their clothes on their shoulders.

And the sons of Yisra'el did according to the word of Mosheh, and they asked from the Mitsrites articles of silver, articles of gold, and clothing.

And יהוה gave the people favor in the sight of the Mitsrites, so that they gave them what they asked; and they plundered the Mitsrites.

And the sons of Yisra'el journeyed from Raʻamses to Sukkot, about six hundred thousand men on foot, besides children.

And a mixed multitude also went up with them, and flocks and herds—a great drove of livestock.

And they baked unleavened cakes from the dough that they had brought out of Mitsrayim, because it was not leavened, since they were driven out of Mitsrayim and could not delay, nor had they prepared any provisions for themselves.

Now the time that the sons of Yisra'el lived in Mitsrayim was three hundred and forty years.

And it came to pass at the end of three hundred and forty years, and it came to pass on this very day, that all the hosts of יהוה went out from the land of Mitsrayim.

It is a night of watching for יהוה, to bring them out from the land of Mitsrayim; this is that night, a night of watching for יהוה, for all the sons of Yisra'el throughout their generations.

And יהוה said to Mosheh and Aharon, 'This is the ordinance of the Passover: no foreigner shall eat of it.'

But every man's slave, bought with money, you shall circumcise him, and then he may eat of it.

A sojourner and a hired servant shall not eat of it.

It shall be eaten in one house; you shall not carry any of the flesh outside the house, and you shall not break any bone of it.

The whole congregation of Yisra'el shall keep it.

And when a sojourner lives with you and celebrates the Passover to יהוה, let all his males be circumcised, and then let him come near to celebrate it, and he shall be like a native of the land. But no uncircumcised person shall eat of it.

There shall be one law for the native and for the sojourner who sojourns among you.

And all the sons of Yisra'el did as יהוה commanded Mosheh and Aharon; so they did.

And it came to pass on this very day, that יהוה brought the sons of Yisra'el out of the land of Mitsrayim by their hosts.
