In that day, King Aḥashverosh gave to Esther the queen the house of Hamam, the enemy of the Yehudim, and Mordekhay came before the king, because Esther told what he was to her.

And the king removed his ring, which he had removed from Hamam, and gave it to Mordekhay, and Esther set Mordekhay over the house of Hamam.

And Esther added and spoke before the king, and she fell before his feet, and she wept and pleaded with him to remove the evil of Hamam the Agagi and his plan, which he planned against the Yehudim.

And the king extended to Esther the scepter of gold, and Esther arose and stood before the king.

And she said, If it is good in the king's eyes, and if I have found favor before him, and the matter is right before the king, and I am good in his eyes, let it be written to reverse the letters, the plan of Hamam son of Hamdata the Agagi, which he wrote to destroy the Yehudim who are in all the king's provinces.

For how can I endure and see the evil that will find my people, and how can I endure and see the destruction of my kindred?

And King Aḥashverosh said to Esther the queen and to Mordekhay the Yehudi, Behold, the house of Hamam, I have given to Esther, and him they hung on the tree because he stretched out his hand against the Yehudim.

And you, write concerning the Yehudim, as is good in your eyes, in the name of the king, and seal it with the king's ring, for a writing which is written in the name of the king and sealed with the king's ring cannot be reversed.

And the king's scribes were called at that time, in the third month, which is the month of Sivan, on the twenty-third of it, and it was written, according to all that Mordekhay commanded, to the Yehudim, and to the satraps, and the governors, and the rulers of the provinces, from India to Cush, one hundred and twenty-seven provinces, to every province according to its writing, and to every people according to its language, and to the Yehudim according to their writing and according to their language.

And he wrote in the name of King Aḥashverosh and sealed it with the king's ring, and sent letters by the hand of riders on horses, the royal horses, the sons of the swift steeds.

Which the king gave to the Yehudim who were in every city, to gather and to stand for their lives, to destroy, and to kill, and to annihilate all the army of the people and province that oppressed them, their little ones and women, and to plunder their spoil.

On one day, in all the provinces of King Aḥashverosh, on the thirteenth of the twelfth month, which is the month of Adar.

A copy of the decree to be given as law in every province, made public to all peoples, and that the Yehudim should be ready for this day to take vengeance on their enemies.

The riders on the royal horses went out, hurried and urgent, by the king's command, and the decree was given in Shushan the capital.

And Mordekhay went out from before the king in royal clothing of blue and white, and a great golden crown, and a cloak of fine linen and purple, and the city of Shushan shouted and rejoiced.

For the Yehudim, there was light and gladness and joy and honor.

And in every province and every city, wherever the king's command and decree arrived, there was gladness and joy for the Yehudim, a feast and a good day, and many from the peoples of the land became Yehudim, because the fear of the Yehudim fell upon them.
