And we turned and went up the road to Bashan, and Og, king of Bashan, went out to meet us, he and all his people, for war, at Edrei.

And יהוה said to me, 'Do not fear him, for into your hand I have given him, and all his people, and his land, and you shall do to him as you did to Sihon, king of the Amorites, who lived in Heshbon.'

And יהוה our Elohim gave into our hand also Og, king of Bashan, and all his people, and we struck him until no survivor was left to him.

And we captured all his cities at that time; there was no city which we did not take from them, sixty cities, all the region of Argob, the kingdom of Og in Bashan.

All these were fortified cities, with high walls, gates, and bars, besides many unwalled towns.

And we devoted them to destruction, as we did to Sihon, king of Heshbon; we devoted to destruction every city, the men, the women, and the little ones.

But all the livestock and the spoil of the cities we plundered for ourselves.

And we took the land at that time from the hand of the two Amorite kings who were beyond the Jordan, from the Arnon Valley to Mount Hermon.

The Sidonians call Hermon Sirion, and the Amorites call it Senir.

All the cities of the plain, and all Gil'ad, and all Bashan, as far as Salecah and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan.

For only Og, king of Bashan, remained of the remnant of the Rephaim. Behold, his bedstead was an iron bedstead; is it not in Rabbah of the sons of Ammon? Nine cubits is its length and four cubits its width, by the cubit of a man.

And this land we inherited at that time, from Aroer, which is by the Arnon Valley, and half of Mount Gil'ad, and its cities, I gave to the Reubenites and to the Gadites.

And the rest of Gil'ad, and all Bashan, the kingdom of Og, I gave to the half-tribe of Manasseh, all the region of Argob. All that region of Bashan is called the land of the Rephaim.

Jair the son of Manasseh took all the region of Argob as far as the border of the Geshurites and the Maacathites, and called them by his name, Bashan Havvoth-jair, to this day.

And to Machir I gave Gil'ad.

And to the Reubenites and to the Gadites I gave from Gil'ad and as far as the Arnon Valley, the middle of the valley and its border, and as far as the Jabbok River, the border of the sons of Ammon.

And the Arabah, and the Jordan, and its border, from Chinnereth as far as the sea of the Arabah, the Salt Sea, below the slopes of Pisgah, eastward.

And I commanded you at that time, saying, 'יהוה your Elohim has given you this land to possess it. You shall go over armed before your brothers, the sons of Yisra'el, all you men of valor.

Only your wives, and your little ones, and your livestock—I know that you have much livestock—shall remain in your cities which I have given you.

Until יהוה gives rest to your brothers as to you, and they also possess the land which יהוה your Elohim is giving them beyond the Jordan. Then you shall return, each man to his inheritance which I have given you.

And Yehoshua I commanded at that time, saying, 'Your eyes have seen all that יהוה your Elohim has done to these two kings; so יהוה shall do to all the kingdoms into which you are going.

You shall not fear them, for יהוה your Elohim is the one fighting for you.'

And I pleaded with יהוה at that time, saying,

'Adonai יהוה, you have begun to show your servant your greatness and your mighty hand, for who is Elohim in the heavens and on earth who can do according to your works and according to your mighty deeds?

Please let me cross over and see the good land that is beyond the Jordan, this good mountain and Lebanon.'

But יהוה was angry with me because of you, and did not listen to me. And יהוה said to me, 'Enough for you! Do not speak to me again about this matter.'

Go up to the top of Pisgah and lift up your eyes westward, and northward, and southward, and eastward, and see with your eyes, for you shall not cross this Jordan.

But command Yehoshua, and strengthen him, and encourage him, for he shall go over before this people, and he shall cause them to inherit the land which you will see.'

And we remained in the valley opposite Beth-peor.
