In the third year of Koresh, king of Persia, a word was revealed to Dani'el, whose name was called Belteshazzar. And the word was true, and it was a great army. And he understood the word, and had understanding in the vision.

In those days, I, Dani'el, was mourning for three weeks of days.

Pleasant bread I did not eat, and meat and wine did not come into my mouth, nor did I anoint myself, until three weeks of days were completed.

And on the twenty-fourth day of the first month, I was by the great river, which is Hiddeqel.

And I lifted up my eyes and saw, and behold, one man clothed in linen, and his loins girded with fine gold.

And his body was like beryl, and his face like the appearance of lightning, and his eyes like torches of fire, and his arms and his feet like polished bronze, and the sound of his words like the sound of a multitude.

And I, Dani'el, alone saw the vision, and the men who were with me did not see the vision, but a great terror fell upon them, and they fled to hide.

And I was left alone, and I saw this great vision, and no strength remained in me, and my radiance was changed within me to ruin, and I retained no strength.

And I heard the sound of his words, and when I heard the sound of his words, I fell into a deep sleep on my face, and my face toward the ground.

And behold, a hand touched me, and set me on my knees and on the palms of my hands.

And he said to me, 'Dani'el, man of desires, understand the words that I am speaking to you, and stand up straight, for now I have been sent to you.' And when he spoke this word to me, I stood trembling.

And he said to me, 'Do not fear, Dani'el, because from the first day that you set your heart to understand and to afflict yourself before your Elohim, your words were heard, and I have come because of your words.'

But the prince of the kingdom of Persia was standing against me for twenty-one days, and behold, Mikha'el, one of the chief princes, came to help me, and I was left there with the kings of Persia.

And I have come to make you understand what will happen to your people in the latter days, because the vision is still for days to come.'

And as he spoke these words to me, I turned my face toward the ground and became speechless.

And behold, like the likeness of a man, something touched my lips, and I opened my mouth and spoke, and said to the one standing before me, 'My Adonai, because of the vision, my pains have turned upon me, and I have retained no strength.'

And how can the servant of my Adonai speak with this my Adonai? For now no strength remains in me, and no breath is left in me.'

And again, something like the appearance of a man touched me and strengthened me.

And he said, 'Do not fear, man of desires. Peace to you. Be strong, and be strong.' And as he spoke with me, I became strong, and I said, 'Let my Adonai speak, because you have strengthened me.'

And he said, 'Do you know why I have come to you? And now I will return to fight with the prince of Persia, and when I go out, behold, the prince of Yavan will come.'

But I will tell you what is inscribed in the writing of truth. And there is no one strengthening himself with me against these, except Mikha'el, your prince.
