And it happened when Sanballat and Tobiah and the Arabs and the Ammonites and the Ashdodites heard that the wall of Yerushalayim was being repaired, for the breaches had begun to be closed, that they became very angry.

And they all conspired together to come to fight against Yerushalayim and to cause confusion there.

And we prayed to our Elohim and set a watch against them day and night because of them.

And Yehudah said, The strength of the carriers is failing, and the dust is much, and we are not able to build on the wall.

And our enemies said, They will not know and they will not see until we come among them and kill them and stop the work.

And it happened when the Yehudim who lived near them came, they said to us ten times, From all the places you must return against us.

And I stationed them in the places behind the wall, in the dry places, and I stationed the people by their families with their swords, their spears, and their bows.

And I saw and stood up and said to the nobles and to the officials and to the rest of the people, Do not fear because of them. Remember Adonai, the great and awesome, and fight for your brothers, your sons, your daughters, your wives, and your houses.

And it happened when our enemies heard that it was known to us, and Elohim frustrated their plan, and we all returned to the wall, each to his work.

And it happened from that day, half of my young men did the work, and half of them held the spears, the shields, the bows, and the armor, and the officers were behind all the house of Yehudah.

Those building the wall and those carrying the burdens worked with one hand doing the work, and the other held a spear.

And the builders, each with his sword tied to his waist, were building, and the one who sounded the trumpet was beside me.

And I said to the nobles and to the officials and to the rest of the people, The work is much and wide, and we are separated on the wall, far from each other.

In the place where you hear the sound of the trumpet, there you will gather to us. Our Elohim will fight for us.

And we were working on the work, and half of them held the spears from the morning light until the stars came out.

Also at that time I said to the people, Each man and his servant will lodge within Yerushalayim, and we will have a watch by night and work by day.

And I, and my brothers, and my young men, and the men of the watch who were with me, we did not take off our clothes; each sent his weapon to the water.
