In that day, it was read in the book of Mosheh in the ears of the people, and it was found written in it, that an Ammonite and a Moabite shall not enter the assembly of Elohim, forever.

Because they did not meet the sons of Yisra'el with bread and water, and they hired Bil'am against them to curse them, and our Elohim turned the curse into a blessing.

And it happened, when they heard the teaching, they separated all mixed people from Yisra'el.

And before this, Elyashiv the kohen, appointed in the chamber of the house of our Elohim, near to Toviyah.

And he made for himself a large chamber, and there formerly they were putting the grain offering, the frankincense, and the vessels, and the tithe of the grain, the new wine, and the oil, the command of the Levites, and the singers, and the gatekeepers, and the contribution of the kohanim.

And in all this, I was not in Yerushalayim, for in the thirty-second year of Artakserkses king of Babel, I came to the king, and at the end of days, I requested from the king.

And I came to Yerushalayim, and I understood the evil that Elyashiv had done for Toviyah, to make for him a chamber in the courts of the house of Elohim.

And it grieved me greatly, and I threw out all the vessels of Toviyah's house from the chamber.

And I said, 'Let the chambers be purified,' and I returned there the vessels of the house of Elohim, the grain offering, and the frankincense.

And I knew that the portions of the Levites were not given, and the Levites and the singers, the workers of the task, fled, each to his field.

And I contended with the officials, and I said, 'Why is the house of Elohim forsaken?' And I gathered them and stood them in their place.

And all Yehudah brought the tithe of the grain, the new wine, and the oil to the storehouses.

And I appointed over the storehouses Shelemyah the kohen, and Tsadoq the scribe, and Pedayah from the Levites, and by their hand Hanan son of Zakur, son of Matanyah, because they were considered trustworthy, and to them it was to distribute to their brothers.

Remember this for me, my Elohim, concerning this, and do not wipe out my kindnesses which I did in the house of my Elohim and in its watch.

In those days, I saw in Yehudah treading winepresses on the Sabbath, and bringing heaps, and loading onto donkeys, and even wine, grapes, and figs, and all a burden, and bringing them to Yerushalayim on the Sabbath day, and I testified on the day of their selling produce.

And the Tyrians lived there, bringing fish and all merchandise, and selling on the Sabbath to the sons of Yehudah and in Yerushalayim.

And I contended with the nobles of Yehudah, and I said to them, 'What is this evil thing that you are doing, and profaning the Sabbath day?'

Did not your fathers do so, and our Elohim brought all this evil upon us and upon this city? And you are adding wrath upon Yisra'el by profaning the Sabbath.

And it happened, when the gates of Yerushalayim were shadowed before the Sabbath, I said, 'Let the doors be shut,' and I said, 'They shall not be opened until after the Sabbath.' And from my young men I stationed at the gates, 'No burden shall enter on the Sabbath day.'

And the merchants and sellers of all merchandise stayed outside Yerushalayim, once and twice.

And I testified against them, and I said to them, 'Why are you staying by the wall? If you do so again, I will lay my hand upon you from that time.' They did not come on the Sabbath.

And I said to the Levites that they should purify themselves and come, guarding the gates to sanctify the Sabbath day. Also this, remember for me, my Elohim, and spare me according to the abundance of your kindness.

Also in those days, I saw Yehudim who had settled women from Ashdod, women from Ammon, women from Moab.

And their sons, half spoke the language of Ashdod, and they did not know how to speak Yehudith, but according to the language of people and people.

And I contended with them, and I cursed them, and I struck some of them, men, and I plucked their hair, and I made them swear by Elohim, saying, 'You shall not give your daughters to their sons, nor shall you take from their daughters for your sons, nor for yourselves.'

Did not Shelomoh king of Yisra'el sin because of these things? And among the many nations, there was no king like him, and he was beloved by his Elohim, and his Elohim made him king over all Yisra'el. Even him, the foreign women caused to sin.

And for you, is it heard to do all this great evil, to act treacherously against our Elohim by settling foreign women?

And from the sons of Yoyada, son of Elyashiv the great kohen, a son-in-law to Sanbalat the Horonite, and I drove him away from me.

Remember them, my Elohim, concerning the defilers of the priesthood and the covenant of the priesthood and the Levites.

And I purified them from all foreign things, and I appointed watches for the kohanim and for the Levites, each in his task.

And for the offering of wood at appointed times, and for the firstfruits, remember me, my Elohim, for good.
