And it happened when Yavin, king of Ḥatsor, heard, he sent to Yovav, king of Madon, and to the king of Shimron, and to the king of Akshaf.

And to the kings who were from the north in the mountain, and in the Arabah, south of Kinnerot, and in the lowlands, and in the regions of Dor from the sea.

The Kena'ani from the east and from the west, and the Emori, and the Ḥitti, and the Perizi, and the Yevusi in the mountain, and the Ḥivi under Ḥermon, in the land of Mitspeh.

And they went out, they and all their camps with them, a people numerous like the sand which is on the seashore, very numerous, and horses and chariots, very many.

And all these kings agreed, and they came, and they encamped together at the waters of Merom to fight against Yisra'el.

And יהוה said to Yehoshua, 'Do not fear them, for tomorrow at this time I am giving all of them slain before Yisra'el; their horses you shall hamstring, and their chariots you shall burn with fire.'

And Yehoshua came, and all the people of war with him, against them at the waters of Merom, suddenly, and he delivered them into their hands.

And יהוה delivered them into the hand of Yisra'el, and he struck them, and pursued them to great Tsidon, and to Mirafot-Mayim, and to the valley of Mitspeh eastward, and he struck them until he left them no survivor.

And Yehoshua did to them as יהוה commanded him; he hamstrung their horses and burned their chariots with fire.

And Yehoshua returned at that time and captured Ḥatsor, and its king he struck with the sword, for Ḥatsor was formerly the head of all these kingdoms.

And they struck every person who was in it with the edge of the sword, utterly destroying them; he left no soul, and Ḥatsor he burned with fire.

And all the cities of these kings, and all their kings, Yehoshua captured, and he struck them with the edge of the sword, he utterly destroyed them, as Mosheh the servant of יהוה commanded.

Only all the cities standing on their mounds, Yisra'el did not burn them, except for Ḥatsor alone, Yehoshua burned it.

And all the spoil of these cities and the livestock, the sons of Yisra'el plundered for themselves; only all the people they struck with the edge of the sword until they destroyed them; they left no soul.

As יהוה commanded Mosheh his servant, so Mosheh commanded Yehoshua, and so Yehoshua did; he did not remove a thing from all that יהוה commanded Mosheh.

And Yehoshua took all this land, the mountain, and all the Negev, and all the land of Goshen, and the lowlands, and the Arabah, and the mountain of Yisra'el and its lowlands.

From the bare mountain that rises to Se'ir, and to Ba'al Gad in the valley of Levanon, below Mount Ḥermon, and all their kings he captured, and he struck them, and killed them.

Many days Yehoshua waged war against all these kings.

There was no city that made peace with the sons of Yisra'el, except the Ḥivi, the inhabitants of Giv'on; they took everything in war.

For it was from יהוה to strengthen their hearts to meet Yisra'el in war, so that he might utterly destroy them, so that there would be no mercy for them, but so that he might destroy them, as יהוה commanded Mosheh.

And Yehoshua came at that time and cut off the Anakim from the mountain, from Ḥevron, from Devir, from Anav, and from all the hill country of Yehudah, and from all the hill country of Yisra'el; with their cities he utterly destroyed them, Yehoshua.

There were no Anakim left in the land of the sons of Yisra'el; only in Azzah, in Gat, and in Ashdod, they remained.

And Yehoshua took all the land, according to all that יהוה spoke to Mosheh, and Yehoshua gave it as an inheritance to Yisra'el according to their divisions, by their tribes, and the land was quiet from war.
