And Iyov answered and said,

Hear, hear my word, and let this be your comfort.

Bear with me and I will speak, and after I speak, you may mock.

Is my complaint against a man? Then why should my spirit not be impatient?

Look at me, and be astonished, and put your hand on your mouth.

Indeed, when I remember, I am terrified, and my flesh trembles.

Why do the wicked live, grow strong, and become mighty?

Their offspring are established before them with them, and their descendants before their eyes.

Their houses are peaceful, without fear, and no rod of Elohim is upon them.

Their bull breeds without fail, and their cow calves and does not miscarry.

They send out their little ones like a flock, and their children dance.

They take up the tambourine and harp, and rejoice at the sound of the pipe.

They finish their days in prosperity, and in an instant go down to Sheol.

And they say to El, 'Depart from us, for we do not desire the knowledge of your ways.'

'What is the Almighty, that we should serve him? And what profit do we get if we plead with him?'

Indeed, their prosperity is not in their hand; the counsel of the wicked is far from me.

'How often is the lamp of the wicked put out? How often does their calamity come upon them? Elohim distributes pangs to them in his anger.'

'They are like straw before the wind, and like chaff that the storm carries away.'

'Elohim stores up their iniquity for their children; he repays them, and they shall know.'

'Let their own eyes see their destruction, and let them drink of the wrath of the Almighty.'

'For what is their concern in their household after them, when the number of their months is cut off?'

'Will El teach knowledge, since he judges those who are on high?'

'One dies in full security, being wholly at ease and prosperous.'

'His sides are full of fat; his bones are moist with marrow.'

'Another dies with a bitter soul, and never tastes of good.'

'They lie down alike in the dust, and the worms cover them.'

'Behold, I know your thoughts, and the schemes you wrongly devise against me.'

'For you say, 'Where is the house of the noble, and where is the tent where the wicked dwell?'

'Have you not asked those who travel the roads, and do you not accept their testimony?'

'For the wicked are reserved for the day of destruction; they are brought forth on the day of wrath.'

'Who will declare his way to his face? And who will repay him for what he has done?'

'He will be carried to the grave, and watch will be kept over his tomb.'

'The clods of the valley are sweet to him; everyone will draw him, and before him there is no end.'

'How then do you comfort me with empty talk? Your answers are false.'
