Then Tsofar the Na'amati answered and said:

Therefore my thoughts cause me to answer, and because of my inner turmoil.

I hear the discipline of my shame, and the spirit of my understanding answers me.

Do you know this from forever, from when man was placed on the earth?

For the rejoicing of the wicked is short, and the joy of the godless is for a moment.

Though his pride ascends to the heavens, and his head reaches the clouds,

Like his dung he will perish forever; those who see him will say, 'Where is he?'

Like a dream he flies away, and he is not found; he is driven away like a vision of the night.

The eye that saw him will not see him again, and his place will no longer behold him.

His sons will appease the poor, and his hands will restore his wealth.

His bones are full of his youth; it will lie down with him in the dust.

Though evil is sweet in his mouth, he hides it; he keeps it under his tongue.

He spares it and does not let it go; he holds it back in his throat.

His food turns to bitterness in his belly; it is the poison of vipers within him.

He swallowed wealth and will vomit it up; Elohim will drive it from his stomach.

He will suck the poison of vipers; the tongue of an adder will kill him.

He will not see the streams, the rivers of honey and curdled milk.

He will restore what he labored for and not swallow it; according to his wealth, he will not rejoice.

For he has crushed and abandoned the poor; he has seized a house and will not build it.

For he knows no peace in his belly; in his desires, he will not escape.

There is nothing left for him to eat; therefore his prosperity will not last.

When he is full, he will be in distress; every hand of the worker will come upon him.

He will be filled with his belly; יהוה will send his anger upon him and rain it down on him in his wrath.

He will flee from iron weapons; a bronze bow will pierce him.

He draws it out and it comes from his body; the flashing sword comes upon him with terror.

All darkness is hidden for his treasures; an unfanned fire will consume him; it will fare badly with what is left in his tent.

The heavens will reveal his iniquity, and the earth will rise up against him.

The produce of his house will be carried away; it will flow away on the day of his anger.

This is the portion of the wicked man from Elohim, and the inheritance appointed to him by El.
