And Iyov answered and said,

Surely, you are the people, and with you wisdom will die.

I also have a heart like you; I am not inferior to you, and who does not know things like these?

I will be a laughingstock to my neighbor, calling to Eloah, and He answered him; the righteous, the blameless, is a laughingstock.

A torch of contempt for him who is at ease, prepared for those whose foot stumbles.

The tents of the destroyers prosper, and those who provoke Eloah are secure, into whose hand Eloah brings.

But now, ask the beasts, and they will teach you, and the birds of the sky, and they will tell you.

Or speak to the earth, and it will teach you, and the fish of the sea will declare to you.

Who among all these does not know that the hand of יהוה has done this?

In whose hand is the soul of every living thing and the spirit of all flesh of man.

Does not the ear test words, and the palate taste food for itself?

With the aged is wisdom, and in length of days is understanding.

With Him is wisdom and might; He has counsel and understanding.

Behold, He tears down, and it is not rebuilt; He shuts up a man, and it is not opened.

Behold, He withholds the waters, and they dry up; He sends them out, and they overturn the earth.

With Him is strength and might; the erring and the one who causes to err are His.

He leads counselors away stripped, and makes judges foolish.

He loosens the bonds of kings, and binds their loins with a belt.

He leads priests away stripped, and overthrows the mighty.

He removes the speech of the trusted, and takes away the discernment of the elders.

He pours contempt on nobles, and loosens the belt of the powerful.

He uncovers the deep things from darkness, and brings the shadow of death to light.

He makes nations great, and destroys them; He expands nations, and leads them.

He removes the understanding of the leaders of the people of the land, and makes them wander in a pathless waste.

They grope in darkness with no light, and He makes them stagger like a drunkard.
