My soul is weary of my life; I will give utterance to my complaint; I will speak in the bitterness of my soul.

I will say to Elohim, 'Do not condemn me; show me why you contend with me.'

Is it good for you that you oppress, that you reject the work of your hands, and that you shine upon the counsel of the wicked?

Do you have eyes of flesh, or do you see as a human sees?

Are your days like the days of a human, or are your years like the years of a man?

Because you seek my iniquity and search for my sin.

According to your knowledge, I am not wicked, and there is no deliverer from your hand.

Your hands formed me and made me; together all around you have swallowed me.

Remember, please, that you made me like clay, and to dust you will return me.

Did you not pour me out like milk and thicken me like cheese?

Skin and flesh you clothed me with, and with bones and sinews you knit me together.

Life and favor you have done with me, and your care has preserved my spirit.

And these things you hid in your heart; I know that this is with you.

If I have sinned, you watched me, and from my iniquity you will not acquit me.

If I am wicked, woe to me! And if I am righteous, I will not lift my head, satisfied with disgrace and seeing my affliction.

And if I exalt myself, like a lion you hunt me, and you return and work wonders against me.

You renew your witnesses against me, and your anger increases with me; changes and an army are with me.

And why did you bring me out from the womb? I would have died, and no eye would have seen me.

As if I had not been, I would be from the womb to the grave, carried away.

Are not my days few? Let me cease, and let me be, that I may take a little comfort.

Before I go, and do not return, to a land of darkness and deep shadow.

A land of gloom like darkness, deep shadow, and without order, and it dawns like darkness.
