And now, hear, Ya'aqov my servant, and Yisra'el whom I chose.

Thus says יהוה, your maker, and your former from the womb, He will help you. Do not fear, my servant Ya'aqov, and Yishurun whom I chose.

For I will pour water on the thirsty, and flowing streams on the dry land. I will pour my spirit on your offspring, and my blessing on your descendants.

And they will sprout among the grass, like willows by the watercourses.

This one will say, 'I am יהוה's,' and this one will call himself by the name of Ya'aqov, and this one will write with his hand, 'To יהוה,' and will be named by the name of Yisra'el.

Thus says יהוה, the King of Yisra'el, and His Redeemer, יהוה of Hosts: 'I am the First, and I am the Last; and besides Me, there is no Elohim.'

And who is like Me? Let him call out and declare it, and set it in order for Me, since I appointed the ancient people, and the things that are coming, and what will come, let them declare to them.

Do not be astonished, and do not fear. Have I not told you from of old, and declared it? And you are My witnesses. Is there an Eloah besides Me? And there is no Rock; I know not any.

All who fashion idols are vanity, and their precious things will not profit. And their witnesses, they neither see nor know, so that they may be ashamed.

Who fashioned an el, and cast a molten image, that profits nothing?

Behold, all his companions will be ashamed, and the craftsmen are from man. They will all gather, they will stand, they will fear, they will be ashamed together.

The ironworker works with the chisel, and fashions it with coals, and shapes it with hammers, and works it with the strength of his arm. He is also hungry, and has no strength; he has not drunk water, and is weary.

The woodworker stretches out a measuring line; he outlines it with a stylus; he shapes it with planes, and outlines it with a compass; and he makes it in the form of a man, like the beauty of a man, to dwell in a house.

To cut down for himself cedars, and he takes a cypress and an oak, and strengthens for himself among the trees of the forest. He plants an ash, and the rain nourishes it.

And it becomes for a man to burn, and he takes some of it and warms himself; also he kindles it, and bakes bread; also he makes an el and worships; he makes it an idol, and bows down to it.

Half of it he burns in the fire; over half of it he eats meat; he roasts a roast, and is satisfied; also he warms himself and says, 'Ah, I am warm; I have seen the fire.'

And the rest of it he makes into an el, for his idol; he bows down to it, and worships it, and prays to it, and says, 'Deliver me, for you are my el.'

They do not know, nor do they understand, for their eyes are shut, so that they cannot see; their hearts are closed, so that they cannot understand.

And he does not return to his heart, nor is there knowledge, nor understanding to say, 'Half of it I burned in the fire, and also I baked bread on its coals; I roasted meat and ate it. And of the rest of it, shall I make an abomination? Shall I bow down to a block of wood?'

He feeds on ashes; a deceived heart has turned him aside, so that he cannot deliver his soul, nor say, 'Is there not a lie in my right hand?'

Remember these things, Ya'aqov, and Yisra'el, for you are My servant. I have formed you; you are My servant, Yisra'el; you will not be forgotten by Me.

I have blotted out your transgressions like a cloud, and your sins like mist. Return to Me, for I have redeemed you.

Sing, O heavens, for יהוה has done it! Shout, O depths of the earth! Break forth into singing, O mountains, O forest, and every tree in it! For יהוה has redeemed Ya'aqov, and will glorify Himself in Yisra'el.

Thus says יהוה, your Redeemer, and your Former from the womb: 'I am יהוה, who makes all things, who alone stretches out the heavens, who spreads out the earth by Myself.'

I frustrate the signs of liars, and make fools of diviners. I make wise men turn back, and make their knowledge foolish.

I confirm the word of My servant, and perform the counsel of My messengers. I say of Yerushalayim, 'She shall be inhabited,' and of the cities of Yehudah, 'They shall be rebuilt,' and I will raise up her ruins.

I say to the deep, 'Be dry, and I will dry up your rivers.'

I say of Koresh, 'He is My shepherd, and he shall perform all My pleasure,' even saying to Yerushalayim, 'You shall be built,' and to the temple, 'Your foundations shall be laid.'
