For behold, the Master יהוה of Hosts is removing from Yerushalayim and from Yehudah support and prop, every support of bread and every support of water.

The mighty man and the man of war, the judge and the prophet and the diviner and the elder.

The captain of fifty and the man of respected face and the counselor and the skillful craftsman and the one understanding whispers.

And I will give youths their captains, and youths will rule over them.

And the people will oppress, man against man, and man against his neighbor will boast; the youth will boast against the elder and the despised against the honored.

For if a man takes hold of his brother in the house of his father, 'You shall be a leader for us,' and this ruin under your hand.

He will lift up on that day, saying, 'I will not be a binder, and in my house there is no bread and no garment; do not appoint me a leader of the people.'

For Yerushalayim has stumbled and Yehudah has fallen, because their tongue and their deeds are against יהוה, to provoke the eyes of His glory.

The expression of their faces testifies against them, and their sin they declare like Sodom; they do not hide it. Woe to their soul, for they have dealt evil to themselves.

Say to the righteous, 'It is good,' for they will eat the fruit of their deeds.

Woe to the wicked, 'It is evil,' for the reward of his hands will be done to him.

My people, their oppressors are youths, and women rule over them. My people, your guides lead astray, and they swallow the path of your ways.

יהוה stands to contend, and stands to judge the peoples.

יהוה will come in judgment against the elders of His people and their princes, and you have devoured the vineyard; the plunder of the poor is in your houses.

What is it to you that you crush my people and grind the faces of the poor? says the Master, יהוה of Hosts.

And יהוה said, 'Because the daughters of Tsiyon are proud and walk with stretched-out necks and with wanton eyes, walking and mincing as they go, and with their feet they make a tinkling sound.'

And the Master will afflict the scalp of the daughters of Tsiyon, and יהוה will lay bare their shame.

On that day the Master will take away the finery of the anklets and the headbands and the moon-shaped ornaments.

The pendants and the bracelets and the veils.

The headdresses and the ankle chains and the sashes and the perfume bottles and the amulets.

The rings and the nose rings.

The festive clothes and the cloaks and the shawls and the purses.

The transparent garments and the fine linen and the turbans and the veils.

And it will be, instead of perfume, a stench; and instead of a sash, a rope; and instead of elaborate hair, baldness; and instead of a fine robe, a girding of sackcloth; instead of beauty.

Your men will fall by the sword, and your warriors in the battle.

And her gates will lament and mourn, and she, being emptied, will sit on the ground.
