Send a sheep-owner ruler of the land from the rock of the wilderness to the mountain of the daughter of Tsiyon.

And it will be like a bird fleeing, like a scattered nest, so will the daughters of Mo'av be at the crossings of Arnon.

Give counsel, make judgment; make your shadow like the night in the middle of noon; hide the banished, do not reveal the wanderer.

Let my banished ones dwell with you, Mo'av; be a hiding place for them from the face of the destroyer, for the oppressor is no more, the destruction has ended, the trampler has been consumed from the land.

And a throne will be established in kindness, and one will sit on it in truth in the tent of David, a judge and one who seeks justice and is quick to do righteousness.

We have heard of the pride of Mo'av, very proud; his pride and his arrogance and his wrath are not like this, his boastings.

Therefore, Mo'av will wail for Mo'av; everyone will wail. For the raisin cakes of Qir-Ḥeres you will groan, indeed, you will be smitten.

For the fields of Ḥeshbon are ruined, the vine of Shivmah; the lords of the nations have struck down its choice plants; they reached Ya'azer, they wandered into the wilderness; its offshoots were spread out, they crossed the sea.

Therefore, I will weep with the weeping of Ya'azer for the vine of Shivmah; I will water you with my tears, Ḥeshbon and El'aleh, for upon your summer fruit and upon your harvest, a shout has fallen.

And joy and gladness are gathered from the vineyard, and in the vineyards no one will sing, no one will shout; wine in the presses will not be trodden; I have made the treader's shout to cease.

Therefore, my insides will moan like a lyre for Mo'av, and my inward parts for Qir-Ḥeres.

And it will be, when it is seen that Mo'av is weary on the high place, and he comes to his sanctuary to pray, he will not succeed.

This is the word that יהוה spoke concerning Mo'av from of old.

And now יהוה has spoken, saying, Within three years, like the years of a hired worker, the glory of Mo'av will be despised with all the great multitude, and the remnant will be very small, few, not mighty.
