Then Shelomoh said, יהוה said to dwell in the cloud.

And I built a house of dwelling for you, a fixed place for your dwelling forever.

And the king turned his face and blessed all the assembly of Yisra'el, and all the assembly of Yisra'el stood.

And he said, 'Blessed is יהוה, Elohim of Yisra'el, who spoke with his mouth to David my father, and with his hands fulfilled, saying:

'From the day I brought out my people from the land of Mitsrayim, I did not choose a city from all the tribes of Yisra'el to build a house for my name to be there, and I did not choose a man to be a leader over my people Yisra'el.

And I chose Yerushalayim to be my name there, and I chose David to be over my people Yisra'el.'

And it was with the heart of David my father to build a house for the name of יהוה, Elohim of Yisra'el.

And יהוה said to David my father, 'Because it was with your heart to build a house for my name, you did well, because it was with your heart.

Only you shall not build the house, for your son who comes from your loins, he shall build the house for my name.'

And יהוה established his word which he spoke, and I arose in the place of David my father, and I sat on the throne of Yisra'el, as יהוה spoke, and I built the house for the name of יהוה, Elohim of Yisra'el.

And I placed there the ark, where the covenant of יהוה is, which he made with the sons of Yisra'el.'

And he stood before the altar of יהוה, in front of all the assembly of Yisra'el, and he spread out his hands.

For Shelomoh made a bronze basin, and he placed it in the middle of the court, five cubits its length and five cubits its width and three cubits its height, and he stood upon it, and he knelt on his knees before all the assembly of Yisra'el, and he spread out his hands toward the heavens.

And he said, 'יהוה Elohim of Yisra'el, there is no Elohim like you in the heavens and on the earth, keeping the covenant and the kindness for your servants who walk before you with all their heart.

You have kept for your servant David my father what you spoke to him, and you spoke with your mouth, and with your hand you fulfilled it, as this day.

And now, יהוה Elohim of Yisra'el, keep for your servant David my father what you spoke to him, saying, 'There shall not be cut off from you a man from before me, sitting on the throne of Yisra'el, only if your sons keep their way to walk in my law, as you walked before me.'

And now, יהוה Elohim of Yisra'el, let your word be confirmed which you spoke to your servant David.

For indeed, will Elohim dwell with man on the earth? Behold, the heavens and the heavens of heavens cannot contain you, how much less this house which I have built.

And you will turn to the prayer of your servant and to his plea, יהוה my Elohim, to listen to the cry and to the prayer which your servant prays before you.

That your eyes may be open to this house, day and night, to the place where you said you would put your name, to listen to the prayer which your servant prays toward this place.

And you will listen to the pleas of your servant and your people Yisra'el, when they pray toward this place, and you will listen from your dwelling place, from the heavens, and you will listen and forgive.

If a man sins against his neighbor, and he takes an oath to make him swear, and an oath comes before your altar in this house.

And you will listen from the heavens, and you will act, and you will judge your servants to repay the wicked, to put his way on his head, and to justify the righteous, to give him according to his righteousness.

And if your people Yisra'el are struck down before an enemy, because they sinned against you, and they turn and confess your name, and pray and plead before you in this house.

And you will listen from the heavens, and you will forgive the sin of your people Yisra'el, and you will bring them back to the land which you gave to them and to their fathers.

When the heavens are shut up and there is no rain, because they sinned against you, and they pray toward this place and confess your name, they will turn from their sin, because you will answer them.

And you will listen from the heavens, and you will forgive the sin of your servants and your people Yisra'el, when you teach them the good way in which they should walk, and you will give rain on your land which you gave to your people for an inheritance.

If famine is in the land, if pestilence, if blight and mildew, locust and caterpillar, if it happens, if its enemies besiege its gates, any plague and any sickness.

Every prayer, every plea, which any man and all your people Yisra'el may have, who know his own plague and his own pain, and spread out his hands toward this house.

And you will listen from the heavens, your dwelling place, and you will forgive, and you will give to the man according to all his ways, for you know his heart, for you alone know the hearts of the sons of man.

So that they may fear you, to walk in your ways all the days they live on the face of the earth which you gave to our fathers.

And also concerning the foreigner, who is not of your people Yisra'el, and he comes from a distant land for the sake of your great name, and your strong hand, and your outstretched arm, and they come and pray toward this house.

And you will listen from the heavens, from your dwelling place, and you will act according to all that the foreigner calls to you for, so that all the peoples of the earth may know your name, and fear you like your people Yisra'el, and know that your name is called upon this house which I have built.

When your people go out to war against their enemies by the way you send them, and they pray to you toward this city which you have chosen, and toward the house which I have built for your name.

And you will listen from the heavens to their prayer and their plea, and you will execute their justice.

If they sin against you, for there is no man who does not sin, and you are angry with them, and you give them into the hand of an enemy, and their captors take them captive to a distant land or a near one.

And they turn to heart in the land where they were taken captive, and they turn and plead to you in the land of their captivity, saying, 'We have sinned, we have acted perversely, we have done wickedly.'

And they turn to you with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their captivity where they were taken captive, and they pray toward their land which you gave to their fathers, and the city which you have chosen, and the house which I have built for your name.

And you will listen from the heavens, from your dwelling place, to their prayer and their pleas, and you will execute their justice, and you will forgive your people who sinned against you.

Now, my Elohim, may your eyes be open and your ears attentive to the prayer of this place.

And now, יהוה Elohim, arise to your resting place, you and the ark of your strength. Your priests, יהוה Elohim, shall be clothed with salvation, and your devout ones shall rejoice in goodness.

יהוה Elohim, do not turn away the face of your anointed one. Remember the kindnesses of David your servant.
