And the people of the land took Yo'aḥaz son of Yoshiyahu and made him king in place of his father in Yerushalayim.

Yo'aḥaz was twenty-three years old when he began to reign, and he reigned three months in Yerushalayim.

And the king of Mitsrayim removed him from Yerushalayim, and he fined the land one hundred talents of silver and one talent of gold.

And the king of Mitsrayim made Eliyaqim his brother king over Yehudah and Yerushalayim, and he changed his name to Yehoyaqim. And Yo'aḥaz his brother he took and brought him to Mitsrayim.

Yehoyaqim was twenty-five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Yerushalayim. And he did evil in the eyes of יהוה his Elohim.

Against him Nebukhadnetstsar king of Bavel came up, and he bound him with bronze chains to take him to Bavel.

And Nebukhadnetstsar brought some of the vessels of the house of יהוה to Bavel and put them in his palace in Bavel.

And the rest of the deeds of Yehoyaqim, and the detestable things he did, and what was found against him, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Yisra'el and Yehudah. And Yehoyakhin his son reigned in his place.

Yehoyakhin was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned three months and ten days in Yerushalayim. And he did evil in the eyes of יהוה.

And at the turn of the year, King Nebukhadnetstsar sent and brought him to Bavel, along with the desirable vessels of the house of יהוה. And he made Tsidqiyahu his brother king over Yehudah and Yerushalayim.

Tsidqiyahu was twenty-one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Yerushalayim.

And he did evil in the eyes of יהוה his Elohim. He did not humble himself before Yirmeyahu the prophet, from the mouth of יהוה.

And also against King Nebukhadnetstsar he rebelled, whom he had made swear by Elohim. And he stiffened his neck and hardened his heart from returning to יהוה, the Elohim of Yisra'el.

Also, all the chiefs of the priests and the people greatly trespassed, like all the detestable practices of the nations. And they defiled the house of יהוה which he had consecrated in Yerushalayim.

And יהוה, the Elohim of their fathers, sent to them by the hand of his messengers, rising early and sending, because he had compassion on his people and on his dwelling place.

But they kept mocking the messengers of Elohim, and despising his words, and scoffing at his prophets, until the wrath of יהוה rose against his people, until there was no healing.

And he brought up against them the king of the Kasdim. And he killed their young men with the sword in the house of their sanctuary, and he had no compassion on young man or maiden, old man or aged. He gave them all into his hand.

And all the vessels of the house of Elohim, the great and the small, and the treasures of the house of יהוה, and the treasures of the king and his officials, he brought all to Bavel.

And they burned the house of Elohim, and they broke down the wall of Yerushalayim, and all its palaces they burned with fire, and all its desirable vessels they destroyed.

And the remnant who escaped the sword he carried away to Bavel, and they became servants to him and to his sons until the reign of the kingdom of Paras.

To fulfill the word of יהוה by the mouth of Yirmeyahu, until the land had enjoyed its Sabbaths. All the days of its desolation it kept Sabbath, to fulfill seventy years.

And in the first year of Koresh king of Paras, to fulfill the word of יהוה by the mouth of Yirmeyahu, יהוה stirred up the spirit of Koresh king of Paras, and he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and also in writing, saying:

Thus says Koresh king of Paras, 'All the kingdoms of the earth יהוה, the Elohim of the heavens, has given to me, and he has commanded me to build him a house in Yerushalayim, which is in Yehudah. Whoever among you of all his people, יהוה his Elohim is with him, and let him go up.'
