And the men of Qiryat Yearim came and brought up the Ark of יהוה and brought it into the house of Avinadav on the hill, and Eleazar his son they consecrated to guard the Ark of יהוה.

And it was from the day the Ark stayed in Qiryat Yearim, and the days multiplied, and it was twenty years, and all the house of Yisra'el lamented after יהוה.

And Shemu'el spoke to all the house of Yisra'el, saying, 'If with all your heart you are returning to יהוה, remove the foreign gods from among you, and the 'Ashtarot, and prepare your heart to יהוה, and serve Him alone, and He will deliver you from the hand of the Pelishtim.'

And the sons of Yisra'el removed the Ba'alim and the 'Ashtarot, and they served יהוה alone.

And Shemu'el said, 'Gather all Yisra'el to Mitzpah, and I will pray for you to יהוה.'

And they gathered to Mitzpah, and they drew water and poured it before יהוה, and they fasted on that day and said there, 'We have sinned against יהוה.' And Shemu'el judged the sons of Yisra'el in Mitzpah.

And the Pelishtim heard that the sons of Yisra'el had gathered to Mitzpah, and the rulers of the Pelishtim went up against Yisra'el. And the sons of Yisra'el heard, and they feared from the face of the Pelishtim.

And the sons of Yisra'el said to Shemu'el, 'Do not be silent from crying out to יהוה our Elohim for us, and He will save us from the hand of the Pelishtim.'

And Shemu'el took one suckling lamb and offered it up, a burnt offering, a whole offering to יהוה. And Shemu'el cried out to יהוה for Yisra'el, and יהוה answered him.

And it was Shemu'el offering the burnt offering, and the Pelishtim drew near for war against Yisra'el. And יהוה thundered with a great voice on that day against the Pelishtim, and He confused them, and they were struck down before Yisra'el.

And the men of Yisra'el went out from Mitzpah and pursued the Pelishtim, and struck them down until below Beit Kar.

And Shemu'el took one stone and set it between Mitzpah and between the Shen, and he called its name Eben Ha'ezer, and he said, 'Until here יהוה has helped us.'

And the Pelishtim were humbled, and they did not again come into the territory of Yisra'el. And the hand of יהוה was against the Pelishtim all the days of Shemu'el.

And the cities which the Pelishtim had taken from Yisra'el returned to Yisra'el, from 'Ekron and to Gath, and Yisra'el recovered their territory from the hand of the Pelishtim. And there was peace between Yisra'el and between the Emori.

And Shemu'el judged Yisra'el all the days of his life.

And he would go year by year, and he would circle Beit El and Gilgal and Mitzpah, and he judged Yisra'el in all these places.

And his return was to Ramah, for there was his house, and there he judged Yisra'el, and he built there an altar to יהוה.
