Sha'ul spoke to Yehonatan his son and to all his servants to kill David, but Yehonatan, Sha'ul's son, was very fond of David

Yehonatan told David, 'Sha'ul my father is seeking to kill you. Now please keep watch in the morning, stay in hiding, and conceal yourself'

'I will go out and stand beside my father in the field where you are, and I will speak about you to my father. I will see what happens and tell you'

Yehonatan spoke well about David to Sha'ul his father and said to him, 'Don't sin against your servant David, O king. He has not sinned against you, and his actions have been very good for you'

'He risked his life and killed the Pelishti, and יהוה brought about a great victory for all Yisra'el. You saw it and rejoiced. Why then sin by shedding innocent blood and killing David without cause?'

Sha'ul listened to Yehonatan's voice and swore, 'As יהוה lives, he will not die'

Yehonatan called David and told him all these words. Yehonatan brought David to Sha'ul, and he was in his presence as before

An evil spirit from יהוה came upon Sha'ul as he sat in his house with his spear in hand, while David played the harp

They told Sha'ul, and he sent other messengers, and they prophesied too. Sha'ul added and sent a third set of messengers, and they prophesied too.

He too went to Ramatah and came to the great well in Sekhu. He asked, 'Where are Shemu'el and David?' They said, 'Look, in Nayot in Ramah.'

He went there to Nayot in Ramah. The spirit of Elohim came upon him too, and he went along prophesying until he came to Nayot in Ramah.

He too stripped off his clothes and prophesied before Shemu'el. He fell naked all that day and all the night. Therefore they say, 'Is Sha'ul also among the prophets?'
