And the word of יהוה came to Yehu son of Hanani concerning Ba'sha, saying:

Because I lifted you from the dust and gave you leader over my people Yisra'el, and you walked in the way of Yaravam and caused my people Yisra'el to sin, to anger me with their sins.

Look, I am causing destruction after Ba'sha and after his house, and I will make your house like the house of Yaravam son of Nevat.

Ba'sha who died in the city, the dogs will eat, and whoever died to him in the field, the birds of the sky will eat.

And the rest of the words of Ba'sha, and all that he did, and his might, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Yisra'el?

And Ba'sha slept with his fathers and was buried in Tirtsa, and Ela his son reigned in his place.

And also by the hand of Yehu son of Hanani the prophet, the word of יהוה was against Ba'sha and against his house, and against all the evil that he did in the eyes of יהוה, to anger him by the works of his hands, to be like the house of Yaravam, and because he struck him.

In the twenty-sixth year of Asa king of Yehudah, Ela son of Ba'sha reigned over Yisra'el in Tirtsa, two years.

And his servant Zimri, captain of half the chariots, conspired against him, and he was in Tirtsa drinking drunk in the house of Arta, who was over the house in Tirtsa.

And Zimri came and struck him and killed him, in the twenty-seventh year of Asa king of Yehudah, and he reigned in his place.

And it happened when he reigned, as he sat on his throne, he struck all the house of Ba'sha; he left none remaining to Ba'sha, neither a male nor his redeemer nor his friend.

And Zimri destroyed all the house of Ba'sha, according to the word of יהוה, which he spoke against Ba'sha by the hand of Yehu the prophet.

Against all the sins of Ba'sha and the sins of Ela his son, which they sinned, and which they caused Yisra'el to sin, to anger יהוה Elohei Yisra'el with their vanities.

In the twenty-seventh year of Asa king of Yehudah, Zimri reigned seven days in Tirtsa, and the people were encamped against Gibton, which belongs to the Pelishtim.

And the people who were encamped heard, saying, 'Zimri has conspired, and also he has struck the king.' So all Yisra'el made Omri, commander of the army, king over Yisra'el on that day in the camp.

And Omri went up, and all Yisra'el with him, from Gibton, and they besieged Tirtsa.

And it happened when Zimri saw that the city was captured, he went into the palace of the king's house, and he burned the king's house over him with fire, and he died.

For his sins which he sinned, to do evil in the eyes of יהוה, to walk in the way of Yaravam, and in his sin which he committed to cause Yisra'el to sin.

And the rest of the words of Zimri, and his conspiracy which he conspired, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Yisra'el?

Then the people of Yisra'el were divided into two parts; half of the people were after Tivni son of Ginat, to make him king, and half were after Omri.

And the people who were after Omri prevailed over the people who were after Tivni son of Ginat, and Tivni died, and Omri reigned.

In the thirty-first year of Asa king of Yehudah, Omri reigned over Yisra'el, twelve years; in Tirtsa he reigned six years.

And he bought the hill Shomron from Shemer for two talents of silver, and he built on the hill, and he called the name of the city which he built after the name of Shemer, the owner of the hill, Shomron.

And Omri did evil in the eyes of יהוה, and he acted wickedly more than all who were before him.

And he walked in all the way of Yaravam son of Nevat, and in his sin which he caused Yisra'el to sin, to anger יהוה Elohei Yisra'el with their vanities.

And the rest of the words of Omri, and all that he did, and his might that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Yisra'el?

And Omri slept with his fathers and was buried in Shomron, and Ahab his son reigned in his place.

And Ahab son of Omri reigned over Yisra'el in the thirty-eighth year of Asa king of Yehudah, and Ahab son of Omri reigned over Yisra'el in Shomron, twenty-two years.

And Ahab son of Omri did evil in the eyes of יהוה more than all who were before him.

And it was as if it were a small thing for him to walk in the sins of Yaravam son of Nevat, and he took as a wife Yizebel daughter of Ethba'al, king of the Sidonians, and he went and served the Ba'al and bowed down to him.

And he erected an altar to the Ba'al in the house of the Ba'al, which he built in Shomron.

And Ahab made an Asherah, and Ahab further did to anger יהוה Elohei Yisra'el more than all the kings of Yisra'el who were before him.

In his days, Hiyel the Bethelite built Yericho; with Abiram his firstborn he founded it, and with Seguv his youngest he set up its gates, according to the word of יהוה, which he spoke by the hand of Yehoshua son of Nun.
