And יהוה spoke to Ya'aqov, saying, 'Arise, go up to Beit-El and dwell there, and make there an altar to the El who appeared to you when you fled from the face of 'Esav your brother.'

And Ya'aqov said to his household and to all who were with him, 'Remove the foreign elohim that are among you, and purify yourselves, and change your garments.'

'And let us arise and go up to Beit-El, and I will make there an altar to the El who answered me in the day of my distress, and was with me in the way that I went.'

'And they gave to Ya'aqov all the foreign elohim that were in their hands, and the earrings that were in their ears, and Ya'aqov hid them under the oak tree that was near Shəqem.'

'And they journeyed, and the terror of Elohim was upon the cities that were around them, and they did not pursue after the sons of Ya'aqov.'

'And Ya'aqov came to Luz, which is in the land of Kəna'an; this is Beit-El, he and all the people who were with him.'

'And he built there an altar, and he called the name of the place El-Beit-El, because there the Elohim were revealed to him when he fled from the face of his brother.'

'And Dvora, Rivqah's nurse, died, and she was buried from under Beit-El, under the oak tree, and he called its name Allon-Bakhut.'

'And יהוה appeared to Ya'aqov again when he came from Padan-Aram, and he blessed him.'

'And יהוה said to him, 'Your name is Ya'aqov; your name shall no longer be called Ya'aqov, but Yisra'el shall be your name.' And he called his name Yisra'el.'

'And יהוה said to him, 'I am El-Shaddai; be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall come from you, and kings shall come from your loins.'

'And the land which I gave to Avraham and to Yitsḥaq, to you I will give it, and to your offspring after you I will give the land.'

'And יהוה ascended from him in the place where he spoke with him.'

'And Ya'aqov set up a pillar in the place where he spoke with him, a pillar of stone, and he poured a drink offering on it, and he poured oil on it.'

'And Ya'aqov called the name of the place where יהוה spoke with him there, Beit-El.'

'And they journeyed from Beit-El, and there was still a distance of land to come to Efratah, and Raḥel gave birth, and she had hard labor in her childbirth.'

'And it happened when she had hard labor in her childbirth, that the midwife said to her, 'Do not fear, for this too is a son for you.''

'And it happened as her soul was going out, for she died, that she called his name Ben-Oni, but his father called him Binyamin.'

'And Raḥel died, and she was buried on the way to Efratah, which is Beit-Leḥem.'

'And Ya'aqov set up a pillar on her grave; this is the pillar of Raḥel's grave, to this day.'

'And Yisra'el journeyed, and he pitched his tent beyond Migdal-Eder.'

'And it happened when Yisra'el dwelt in that land, that Re'uven went and lay with Bilhah, his father's concubine, and Yisra'el heard. The sons of Ya'aqov were twelve.'

'The sons of Le'ah: Re'uven, Ya'aqov's firstborn, and Shim'on, and Levi, and Yehudah, and Yissakhar, and Zevulun.'

'The sons of Raḥel: Yosef and Binyamin.'

'And the sons of Bilhah, Raḥel's servant girl: Dan and Naftali.'

'And the sons of Zilpah, Le'ah's servant girl: Gad and Asher. These are the sons of Ya'aqov who were born to him in Padan-Aram.'

'And Ya'aqov came to Yitsḥaq his father to Mamre, to Qiryat-Ha'arba, which is Ḥevron, where Avraham and Yitsḥaq had sojourned.'

'And the days of Yitsḥaq were one hundred and eighty years.'

'And Yitsḥaq breathed his last and died, and was gathered to his people, old and full of days, and 'Esav and Ya'aqov his sons buried him.'
