And the word of יהוה came to me, saying:

Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Yisra'el, prophesy and say to them, to the shepherds, Thus says Adonai Elohim: Woe to the shepherds of Yisra'el who have been feeding themselves! Should not the flock feed the shepherds?

You eat the fat, and you clothe yourselves with the wool; you slaughter the fatlings; you do not feed the flock.

The weak you have not strengthened, and the sick you have not healed, and the broken you have not bound up, and the scattered you have not brought back, and the lost you have not sought, and with force you have ruled them, and with harshness.

And they were scattered because there was no shepherd, and they became food for every wild animal of the field, and they were scattered.

My flock wandered on all the mountains, and on every high hill; and on all the face of the land my flock was scattered, and there was no one searching, and no one seeking.

Therefore, shepherds, hear the word of יהוה.

As I live, declares Adonai Elohim, surely because my flock became plunder, and my flock became food for every wild animal of the field, because there was no shepherd, and my shepherds did not seek my flock, and the shepherds fed themselves and did not feed my flock.

Therefore, shepherds, hear the word of יהוה.

Thus says Adonai Elohim: Behold, I am against the shepherds, and I will seek my flock from their hand, and I will cause them to cease from feeding the flock, and the shepherds will no longer feed them, and I will rescue my flock from their mouth, and they will not be food for them.

For thus says Adonai Elohim: Behold, I myself will seek my flock and will look after them.

As a shepherd looks after his flock on the day he is in the midst of his sheep that are scattered, so I will look after my sheep, and I will rescue them from all the places where they were scattered on a day of cloud and thick darkness.

And I will bring them out from the peoples, and I will gather them from the lands, and I will bring them to their land, and I will feed them on the mountains of Yisra'el, by the streams, and in all the inhabited places of the land.

I will feed them in a good pasture, and on the high mountains of Yisra'el their resting place will be; there they will lie down in a good resting place, and in a fat pasture they will feed on the mountains of Yisra'el.

I myself will feed my flock, and I myself will cause them to lie down, declares Adonai Elohim.

The lost I will seek, and the scattered I will bring back, and the broken I will bind up, and the sick I will strengthen, and the fat and the strong I will destroy; I will feed them with justice.

And as for you, my flock, thus says Adonai Elohim: Behold, I am judging between sheep and sheep, between the rams and the male goats.

Is it not enough for you to feed in a good pasture, that you trample the rest of your pastures with your feet, and drink the clear water, and muddy the rest with your feet?

And my sheep will feed on what your feet have trampled, and drink what your feet have muddied.

Therefore, thus says Adonai Elohim to them: Behold, I myself will judge between the fat sheep and the lean sheep.

Because you push with flank and with shoulder, and gore with your horns all the weak until you scatter them outward.

And I will save my flock, and they will no longer be plunder, and I will judge between sheep and sheep.

And I will set up over them one shepherd, and he will feed them, my servant David; he will feed them, and he will be their shepherd.

And I, יהוה, will be their Elohim, and my servant David, a prince among them; I, יהוה, have spoken.

And I will make a covenant of peace with them, and I will cause harmful animals to cease from the land, and they will dwell securely in the wilderness, and they will sleep in the forests.

And I will give them and the surroundings of my hill a blessing, and I will cause the rain to come down in its season; rains of blessing they will be.

And the trees of the field will give their fruit, and the land will give its produce, and they will be on their land securely, and they will know that I am יהוה when I break the bars of their yoke, and I will rescue them from the hand of those who enslaved them.

And they will no longer be plunder for the nations, and the wild animals of the land will not devour them, and they will dwell securely, and there will be no one to make them afraid.

And I will raise up for them a plantation for renown, and they will no longer be consumed by famine in the land, and they will no longer bear the disgrace of the nations.

And they will know that I, יהוה their Elohim, am with them, and they are my people, the house of Yisra'el, declares Adonai Elohim.

And you are my flock, the flock of my pasture; you are humans; I am your Elohim, declares Adonai Elohim.
