And it happened in the twelfth year, in the twelfth month, on the first of the month, the word of יהוה came to me, saying:

Son of man, raise a lament over Pharaoh, king of Mitsrayim, and say to him: You are like a young lion among nations, and you are like a dragon in the seas, and you surge in your rivers, and you muddy water with your feet, and you trample rivers.

Thus says Adonai יהוה: And I will spread my net over you in the gathering of many peoples, and they will lift you up in my net.

And I will cast you on the land; on the face of the field I will throw you, and I will cause every bird of the heavens to dwell on you, and I will satisfy the wild animals of all the earth with you.

And I will give your flesh on the mountains, and I will fill the valleys with your ruin.

And I will water the land of your flowing from your blood to the mountains, and the streams will be filled from you.

And I will cover the heavens with your ruin, and I will darken their stars; I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon will not give its light.

All the lights of light in the heavens I will darken over you, and I will give darkness on your land, declares Adonai יהוה.

And I will provoke the heart of many peoples when I bring your destruction among nations, to lands which you did not know.

And I will make many peoples astonished over you, and their kings will shudder over you with the terror of my sword over their faces, and each will tremble for a moment for his life on the day of your fall.

For thus says Adonai יהוה: The sword of the king of Babel will come to you.

With the swords of warriors I will bring down your multitude, all the mighty ones of nations, and they will plunder the pride of Mitsrayim, and all its multitude will be destroyed.

And I will destroy all its livestock from beside great waters, and the foot of man will not muddy them anymore, and the hooves of animals will not muddy them.

Then I will make their waters sink, and I will cause their rivers to flow like oil, declares Adonai יהוה.

When I make the land of Mitsrayim a desolation, and a land devoid of its fullness, when I strike all its inhabitants, they will know that I am יהוה.

This is a lament, and the daughters of nations will lament it; they will lament it over Mitsrayim and over all its multitude, they will lament it, declares Adonai יהוה.

And it happened in the twelfth year, in the fifteenth of the month, the word of יהוה came to me, saying:

Son of man, wail over the multitude of Mitsrayim, and bring it down, her and the daughters of mighty nations, to the land of the lowest, with those who go down to the pit.

Whom are you more beautiful than? Go down and lie with the uncircumcised.

They will fall among the slain by the sword; the sword is given; drag her and all her multitude.

There are the princes of the north, all of them, and all the Sidonians, who went down with the slain in their terror, ashamed because of their might; they will lie uncircumcised with the slain by the sword, and they will bear their shame with those who go down to the pit.

Pharaoh will see them and be comforted over all his multitude, Pharaoh and all his army, slain by the sword, declares Adonai יהוה.

For I have given my terror in the land of the living, and he will lie down among the uncircumcised with the slain by the sword, Pharaoh and all his multitude, declares Adonai יהוה.
