And it happened in the eleventh year, on the first of the month, the word of יהוה came to me, saying:

Son of man, because Tsor said concerning Yerushalayim, 'Aha! The gates of the peoples are broken, they have turned to me; I will be filled, she is ruined!'

Therefore, thus says Adonai יהוה, 'Behold, I am against you, Tsor, and I will bring up many nations against you, as the sea brings up its waves.'

And they will destroy the walls of Tsor and tear down its towers, and I will sweep away its dust from it and give it as a bare rock.'

It will be a place for spreading nets in the midst of the sea, for I have spoken,' declares Adonai יהוה, 'and it will become plunder for the nations.'

And her daughters in the field will be killed by the sword, and they will know that I am יהוה.

For thus says Adonai יהוה, 'Behold, I am bringing against Tsor, Nevukhadretstsar, king of Bavel, from the north, king of kings, with horses, with chariots, and with horsemen, and a great assembly and people.'

He will kill your daughters in the field with the sword, and he will build siege ramps against you and cast up a siege mound against you and raise a shield wall against you.

And he will direct his battering rams against your walls, and he will tear down your towers with his swords.

From the abundance of his horses, their dust will cover you; from the sound of horsemen, and wheels, and chariots, your walls will shake when he enters your gates, as when entering a city breached.

With the hooves of his horses he will trample all your streets; your people he will kill with the sword, and your pillars of strength will go down to the ground.

And they will plunder your wealth and pillage your merchandise, and they will tear down your walls and destroy your desirable houses, and they will cast your stones and your timbers and your dust into the water.

And I will silence the sound of your songs, and the sound of your lyres will no longer be heard.

And I will give you as a bare rock, a place for spreading nets; you will not be rebuilt again, for I, יהוה, have spoken,' declares Adonai יהוה.

Thus says Adonai יהוה to Tsor, 'Will not the sound of your fall, when the slain cry out, when slaughter is in you, make the islands tremble?'

And all the rulers of the sea will come down from their thrones, and they will take off their robes, and they will strip off their embroidered garments; they will put on trembling, they will sit on the ground, and they will tremble every moment, and be astonished at you.

And they will take up a lamentation over you and say to you, 'How have you perished, inhabitant of the seas, the renowned city that was strong on the sea, she and her inhabitants, who instilled terror in all her inhabitants!'

Now the coastlands will tremble on the day of your fall, and the islands in the sea will be terrified at your departure.

For thus says Adonai יהוה, 'When I make you a ruined city, like cities that are not inhabited, when I bring up the deep against you and the great waters cover you.'

And I will bring you down with those who go down to the pit, to the people of old, and I will cause you to dwell in the land of the lower parts, like the ruins of old, so that you will not be inhabited, and I will place splendor in the land of the living.

I will bring you to terrifying ends, and you will be no more, and though you are sought, you will never be found again,' declares Adonai יהוה.
