At the end of seven years you shall make a release.

And this is the matter of the release: every creditor shall release what he has lent to his neighbor; no one shall exact payment from his neighbor or his brother, because יהוה's release has been proclaimed.

You may exact payment from a foreigner, but you shall release what you have from your brother.

However, there shall be no poor among you, because יהוה will surely bless you in the land which יהוה your Elohim is giving you to possess as an inheritance.

Only if you diligently obey the voice of יהוה your Elohim, to carefully keep all this commandment which I am commanding you today.

For יהוה your Elohim will bless you just as He promised you, and you will lend to many nations, but you will not borrow; and you will rule over many nations, but they will not rule over you.

If there is among you a poor man, one of your brothers, in any of your towns in the land which יהוה your Elohim is giving you, you shall not harden your heart nor close your hand from your poor brother.

But you shall surely open your hand to him and lend him sufficient for his need, whatever he needs.

Beware lest there be a base thought in your heart, saying, 'The seventh year, the year of release, is near,' and your eye be evil toward your poor brother, and you give him nothing, and he cry out to יהוה against you, and it be a sin against you.

You shall surely give to him, and your heart shall not be grieved when you give to him, because for this thing יהוה your Elohim will bless you in all your work and in all that you put your hand to.

For the poor will never cease from the land; therefore I am commanding you, saying, 'You shall surely open your hand to your brother, to your afflicted, and to your poor, in your land.'

If your brother, a Hebrew man or a Hebrew woman, is sold to you, he shall serve you six years, and in the seventh year you shall let him go free from you.

And when you let him go free from you, you shall not let him go empty-handed.

You shall generously provide for him from your flock, from your threshing floor, and from your winepress; you shall give to him as יהוה your Elohim has blessed you.

And you shall remember that you were a slave in the land of Mitsrayim, and יהוה your Elohim redeemed you; therefore I am commanding you this thing today.

And if he says to you, 'I will not go out from you,' because he loves you and your household, because it is good for him with you.

Then you shall take an awl and put it through his ear to the door, and he shall be your slave forever. And also to your female slave you shall do this.

It shall not seem hard in your eyes when you let him go free from you, because he has served you for a double the wage of a hired servant for six years. And יהוה your Elohim will bless you in all that you do.

Every firstborn male that is born from your herd and from your flock you shall consecrate to יהוה your Elohim; you shall not work with the firstborn of your ox, nor shear the firstborn of your sheep.

You shall eat them before יהוה your Elohim year by year in the place which יהוה chooses, you and your household.

And if it has a blemish, if it is lame or blind, any bad blemish, you shall not sacrifice it to יהוה your Elohim.

You shall eat it within your gates; the unclean and the clean alike may eat it, like the gazelle and like the deer.

Only you shall not eat its blood; you shall pour it on the ground like water.
