Hear this word, you cows of Bashan, who are on the mountain of Shomron, who oppress the poor, who crush the needy, who say to their masters, 'Bring, and let us drink.'

Adonai יהוה has sworn by His holiness, 'Look, days are coming upon you, and they will lift you with hooks, and your last ones with fishing hooks.'

And through breaches you will go out, each woman opposite her, and you will cast them into the palace,' declares יהוה.

'Come to Beit-El and transgress, to Gilgal and multiply transgression, and bring your sacrifices in the morning, your tithes every three days.'

'And offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving from leavened bread, and proclaim freewill offerings, make them heard, for you love these things, sons of Yisra'el,' declares Adonai יהוה.

'And also I gave you gnashing of teeth in all your cities, and lack of bread in all your places, yet you did not return to Me,' declares יהוה.

'And also I withheld the rain from you when there were still three months until the harvest, and I made it rain on one city, and on another city I did not make it rain; one part was rained on, and the part on which it did not rain, it withered.'

'And two or three cities staggered to one city to drink water, and they were not satisfied, yet you did not return to Me,' declares יהוה.

'I struck you with blight and with mildew; the abundance of your gardens and your vineyards, and your fig trees and your olive trees, the locust devoured, yet you did not return to Me,' declares יהוה.

'I sent among you a pestilence, the way of Mitsrayim; I killed your young men with the sword, along with the capture of your horses, and I made the stench of your camps rise up to your nostrils, yet you did not return to Me,' declares יהוה.

'I overthrew among you, like the overthrow of Elohim, Sodom and Gomorrah, and you became like a firebrand plucked from the burning, yet you did not return to Me,' declares יהוה.

'Therefore, thus I will do to you, Yisra'el; because of this I will do this to you, prepare to meet your Elohim, O Yisra'el.'

'For behold, He who forms the mountains and creates the wind, and declares to man what His thought is, who makes the dawn into darkness, and treads on the heights of the earth; יהוה, Elohei-Tzevaot, is His name.'
