At the time of this writing, I am not aware of any positive new moon sightings from Israel this evening, 23 May 2020. I will, of course, send an update should any positive observations come in later.

If no positive reports come in from this evening’s observation, the new month will begin at sunset on 24 May 2020 by default, as it will be the end of 30 days.

The photo at the top of this report was taken from our observation point in Jerusalem this evening. On behalf of all of us who rely on these observations, we wish to thank everyone in Israel who looked for the new moon this evening and sent in their observations in a timely manner, as well as everyone who is supporting our efforts from afar.

If reliable first-hand New Moon and Aviv Reports from Israel are of value to you, please consider supporting our efforts. We could really use your support in restoring the Biblical Calendar.

Chodesh Tov! Make it a great month!

25 April 2020

Shalom Aleichem,

On the 24 April at sunset, the new moon was visible in the United States and 25 April globally. The new moon likely would have been visible in Israel on 24 April but due to haze much like here in Australia, the second new moon was not visible yesterday.

At the time of this writing, I am not aware of any positive new moon sightings from Israel this evening, 24 February 2020. This was expected to be an easy sighting and the new moon was most likely not visible due to the heavy dust-related haze we had here all day.

As it was impossible to see the new moon yesterday and this evening is the end of the 30th day, this means the Second Month begins this evening at sunset on 24 February 2020 by default.

On behalf of all of us who rely on these observations, we wish to thank everyone in Israel who looked for the new moon this evening and sent in their observations in a timely manner. We are also extremely grateful to everyone who is supporting our efforts from afar, your support helps us be able to collect the observations and share these reports.

If reliable first-hand New Moon and Aviv Reports from Israel are of value to you, please consider supporting our efforts. We could really use your support in restoring the Biblical Calendar.

Aviv New Moon Sighted 2020

26 March 2020

Shalom Aleichem,

I pray that this finds you and your family doing well. The Corona Virus has stirred a lot of challenges and continues to take its toll. In the spirit of Pesach, I pray it skips like a lamb over your home.

Blow the shofar. The new moon was visible in Jerusalem, Israel on 25 March at sunset making the 26 March the first day of Aviv. The count to Pesach starts. May YHWH provide you a blessed Pesach.

Here in Australia on 25 March at sunset, the sky was too cloudy to see the new moon but should have easily been visible in the north and west.

Aviv Report

On March 15, 2020, our search team found a lot of barley in the flowering and cotton stages, and some in the worm stage. We would like to be able to inspect the fields again just prior to the New Moon observation next week and share with you what we find. If you have been enjoying our New Moon and Aviv Reports and have been meaning to make a contribution, now would be a great time to support our efforts, as our funds are running low and it is imperative that we keep going out and monitor the state of the barley, to ensure that we keep the holidays in their appointed times.
