בַּחֹדֶשׁ הָרִאשׁוֹן הוּא-חֹדֶשׁ נִיסָן בִּשְׁנַת שְׁתֵּים עֶשְׂרֵה לַמֶּלֶךְ אֲחַשְׁוֵרוֹשׁ הִפִּיל פּוּר הוּא הַגּוֹרָל לִפְנֵי הָמָן מִיּוֹם לְיוֹם וּמֵחֹדֶשׁ לְחֹדֶשׁ שְׁנֵים-עָשָׂר הוּא-חֹדֶשׁ אֲדָֽר
ba-ḥodeš hari’ašon hu-ḥodeš nisan bišnat šteim ‘esre lemelekh aḥašveroš hip-pil pur hu haggoral lifnei ham-man miyom leyom umeḥodeš leḥodeš šneim-‘asar hu-ḥodeš ‘adar
In the first month, which is the month of Nisan, in the twelfth year of King Ahasuerus, they cast the pur, which is the lot, before Haman, from day to day and from month to month, for the twelfth month, which is the month of Adar.

וְנִשְׁלוֹחַ סְפָרִים בְּיַד הָרָצִים אֶל-כּל-מְדִינוֹת הַמֶּלֶךְ לְהַשְׁמִיד לַהֲרֹג וּלְאַבֵּד אֶת-כּל-הַיְּהוּדִים מִנַּעַר וְעַד-זָקֵן טַף וְנָשִׁים בְּיוֹם אֶחָד בִּשְׁלוֹשָׁה עָשָׂר לְחֹדֶשׁ שְׁנֵים-עָשָׂר הוּא-חֹדֶשׁ אֲדָר וּשְׁלָלָם לָבֽוֹז
veniš-loaḥ sefarim bayad haravim ‘el-kol-medinot hamelekh lehaš-mid lah-arog ule’av-ed ‘et-kol-hay-yehudim minna’ar ve’ad-zaqen ṭaf venašim beyom ‘eḥad bišloša ‘asar ḥodeš šneim-‘asar hu-ḥodeš ‘adar uše-lal-lam lavoz
And letters were sent by the hand of messengers to all the king’s provinces, to destroy, to kill, and to annihilate all the Yehudim, from young man to old man, infants and women, on one day, on the thirteenth of the twelfth month, which is the month of Adar, and to plunder their spoil.

בְּיוֹם אֶחָד בְּכל-מְדִינוֹת הַמֶּלֶךְ אֲחַשְׁוֵרוֹשׁ בִּשְׁלוֹשָׁה עָשָׂר לְחֹדֶשׁ שְׁנֵים-עָשָׂר הוּא-חֹדֶשׁ אֲדָֽר
be-yom ehad be-kol medinot ha-melekh a-hashverosh bi-shlosha asar le-khodesh shneim-asar hu-khodesh adar
On one day, in all the provinces of King Aḥashverosh, on the thirteenth of the twelfth month, which is the month of Adar.

וּבִשְׁנֵים עָשָׂר חֹדֶשׁ הוּא-חֹדֶשׁ אֲדָר בִּשְׁלוֹשָׁה עָשָׂר יוֹם בּוֹ אֲשֶׁר הִגִּיעַ דְּבַר-הַמֶּלֶךְ וְדָתוֹ לְהֵעָשׂוֹת בַּיּוֹם אֲשֶׁר שִׂבְּרוּ אֹיְבֵי הַיְּהוּדִים לִשְׁלוֹט בָּהֶם וְנַהֲפוֹךְ הוּא אֲשֶׁר יִשְׁלְטוּ הַיְּהוּדִים הֵמָּה בְּשֹׂנְאֵיהֶֽם
u-vishnem asar hodesh hu-hodesh adar bishlosha asar yom bo asher higi’a dvar-hamelakh vedato lehe’asot bayom asher sivru oyevei hayehudim lishlot baham venahafokh hu asher yishletu hayehudim hemah besone’ehem
And it happened in the twelfth month, which is the month of Adar, on the thirteenth day of it, when the king’s command and his decree arrived to be done on the day when the enemies of the Yehudim hoped to rule over them, and it was turned around, that the Yehudim themselves would rule over their haters.

וַיִּֽקָּהֲלוּ (היהודיים) [הַיְּהוּדִים] אֲשֶׁר-בְּשׁוּשָׁן גַּם בְּיוֹם אַרְבָּעָה עָשָׂר לְחֹדֶשׁ אֲדָר וַיַּֽהַרְגוּ בְשׁוּשָׁן שְׁלֹשׁ מֵאוֹת אִישׁ וּבַבִּזָּה לֹא שָׁלְחוּ אֶת-יָדָֽם
vayikhalu (hayehudim) [hayehudim] asher-vashushan gam bayom arba asar lekhodesh adar vayaharigu veshushan shlosh me’ot ish uvavizah lo shalkhu et-yadam
And the Yehudim who were in Shushan gathered also on the fourteenth day of the month of Adar, and they killed three hundred men in Shushan, but on the plunder they did not send their hand.

בְּיוֹם-שְׁלוֹשָׁה עָשָׂר לְחֹדֶשׁ אֲדָר וְנוֹחַ בְּאַרְבָּעָה עָשָׂר בּוֹ וְעָשֹׂה אֹתוֹ יוֹם מִשְׁתֶּה וְשִׂמְחָֽה
bayom-shlosha asar lekhodesh adar venokha be’arb’ah asar bo ve’aso oto yom mishte vesimkhah
On the thirteenth day of the month of Adar, and they rested on the fourteenth day of it, and made it a day of feasting and joy.

עַל-כֵּן הַיְּהוּדִים (הפרוזים) [הַפְּרָזִים] הַיֹּשְׁבִים בְּעָרֵי הַפְּרָזוֹת עֹשִׂים אֵת יוֹם אַרְבָּעָה עָשָׂר לְחֹדֶשׁ אֲדָר שִׂמְחָה וּמִשְׁתֶּה וְיוֹם טוֹב וּמִשְׁלֹחַ מָנוֹת אִישׁ לְרֵעֵֽהוּ
al-ken hayehudim (haprazim) [haprazim] hayoshvim be’arei haprazot osim et yom arba asar lekhodesh adar simkhah umishte veyom tov umishlokh manot ish lere’ehu
Therefore, the Yehudim who are in the unwalled towns make the fourteenth day of the month of Adar a day of joy and feasting, and a holiday, and sending gifts, each man to his neighbor.

לְקַיֵּם עֲלֵיהֶם לִהְיוֹת עֹשִׂים אֵת יוֹם אַרְבָּעָה עָשָׂר לְחֹדֶשׁ אֲדָר וְאֵת יוֹם-חֲמִשָּׁה עָשָׂר בּוֹ בְּכל-שָׁנָה וְשָׁנָֽה
lekaiyem aleihem lihiyot osim et yom arba asar lekhodesh adar ve’et yom-khamesh asar bo bekol-shanah veshanah
To establish upon them to be doing the fourteenth day of the month of Adar and the fifteenth day of it, every year and every year.

וְשֵׁיצִיא בַּיְתָה דְנָה עַד יוֹם תְּלָתָה לִירַח אֲדָר דִּי-הִיא שְׁנַת-שֵׁת לְמַלְכוּת דָּרְיָוֶשׁ מַלְכָּֽא
Veshe’etzi vayta dena ‘ad yom telatah liyerah Adar di-hi shnat-shet lemalkhut Daryavesh malka
And this house was finished on the third day of the month Adar, which was the sixth year of the reign of King Darius.
