My Elohim, my Elohim, why have you forsaken me? Far from my salvation, the words of my groaning.

For you are he who drew me from the womb; you made me secure on my mother's breasts.

Upon you I was cast from birth; from my mother's womb you are my Elohim.

Do not be far from me, for distress is near, for there is no helper.

Many bulls surround me; the mighty bulls of Bashan encircle me.

For dogs surround me; a company of evildoers encircles me; they pierce my hands and my feet.

I can count all my bones; they stare and gloat over me.

They divide my garments among them, and for my clothing they cast lots.

But you, יהוה, do not be far off; my help, hasten to me.

Deliver my life from the sword, my only one from the power of the dog.

Save me from the lion's mouth; from the horns of wild oxen you answer me.

I will tell of your name to my brothers; in the midst of the assembly I will praise you.

You who fear יהוה, praise him! All you offspring of Ya'aqov, glorify him! And stand in awe of him, all you offspring of Yisra'el!

For he has not despised or abhorred the affliction of the afflicted, and he has not hidden his face from him, but he heard when he cried to him.

From you comes my praise in the great assembly; I will perform my vows before those who fear him.

The humble shall eat and be satisfied; those who seek יהוה shall praise him! May your hearts live forever!

All the ends of the earth shall remember and turn to יהוה; and all the families of the nations shall worship before you.

For kingship belongs to יהוה, and he rules over the nations.

All the prosperous of the earth shall eat and worship; before him shall bow all who go down to the dust, even the one who could not keep his own life alive.

Posterity shall serve him; it shall be told of Adonai to the coming generation.

They shall come and proclaim his righteousness to a people yet to be born, for he has done it.
