Why, יהוה, do you stand far off? You hide yourself in times of distress?

In the arrogance of the wicked, the poor are inflamed; they are caught in the schemes they have devised.

For the wicked boasts of his soul's desire, and the greedy blesses, he curses יהוה.

The wicked, because of his pride, does not seek; there is no Elohim; all his schemes are his.

His ways are firm at all times; your judgments are far from him; all his oppressors he blows away.

He says in his heart, 'I will not be moved, to generation and generation, that I will not be in evil.'

His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and oppression; under his tongue is trouble and iniquity.

He sits in ambush in the villages; in secret places he murders the innocent; his eyes watch for the helpless.

He ambushes in secret like a lion in his thicket; he ambushes to snatch the poor; he snatches the poor when he draws them into his net.

He crushes, he bows down, and he falls by his mighty ones; the helpless fall.

He says in his heart, 'Elohim has forgotten; he hides his face; he will not see forever.'

Arise, יהוה! Elohim, lift up your hand! Do not forget the humble.

Why does the wicked curse Elohim? He says in his heart, 'You will not seek.'

You have seen, for you look on trouble and vexation, to give into your hand; on you the helpless leaves himself; you were the helper.

Break the arm of the wicked and the evil; you will seek his wickedness and not find it.

יהוה is King forever and ever; the nations have perished from his land.

The desire of the humble you have heard, יהוה; you prepare their heart; you listen with your ear.

To judge the orphan and the oppressed, so that man from the earth may no longer cause terror.
