And it happened when Sanballat and Tobiah and Geshem the Arab and the rest of our enemies heard that I built the wall and no breach remained in it, even until that time, I had not set up doors in the gates.

And Sanballat and Geshem sent to me saying, 'Come, and let us meet together in the villages in the plain of Ono.' But they were planning to do evil to me.

And I sent messengers to them saying, 'I am doing a great work and I cannot come down. Why should the work stop while I leave it and come down to you?'

And they sent to me like this four times, and I returned to them like this.

And Sanballat sent to me like this a fifth time, his servant, and an open letter in his hand.

It was written in it, 'It is heard among the nations, and Geshem says, You and the Yehudim are planning to rebel. Therefore, you are building the wall, and you are becoming king to them, according to these matters.'

And also, you have appointed prophets to prophesy about you in Yerushalayim saying, 'There is a king in Yehudah!' And now, it will be heard by the king according to these matters. And now, come, and let us consult together.

And I sent to him saying, 'These matters which you are saying will not happen, for you are inventing them from your heart.'

For all of them were making us afraid, saying, 'Their hands will relax from the work, and it will not be done.' And now, strengthen my hands.

And I came to the house of Shemaiah son of Delaiah, son of Mehetabel, and he was confined. And he said, 'Let us meet in the house of Elohim, inside the temple, and let us close the doors of the temple, for they are coming to kill you, and at night they are coming to kill you.'

And I said, 'A man like me should flee? And who like me would go into the temple and live? I will not go.'

And I recognized, and behold, Elohim had not sent him, for the prophecy he spoke against me, Tobiah and Sanballat had hired him.

For the sake of his being hired, so that I would be afraid and do this, and sin, and it would be for them a bad name, so that they would reproach me.

Remember, my Elohim, against Tobiah and against Sanballat, according to these deeds of theirs, and also against Noadiah the prophetess and the rest of the prophets who were making me afraid.

And the wall was completed on the twenty-fifth of Elul, in fifty-two days.

And it happened when all our enemies heard, and all the nations surrounding us saw, and they fell greatly in their own eyes, and they knew that this work had been done by our Elohim.

Also in those days, the nobles of Yehudah were sending many letters, going to Tobiah, and those of Tobiah were coming to them.

For many in Yehudah were bound by oath to him, for he was a father-in-law to Shecaniah son of Поэтому, and Jehohanan his son had taken the daughter of Meshullam son of Berechiah.

Also, they were speaking of his good deeds before me, and my words they were bringing out to him. Tobiah sent letters to make me afraid.
