Why from Shaddai are times not hidden, and those who know Him do not see His days?

They remove boundary markers; they steal flocks and pasture them.

They drive the donkeys of orphans; they seize the ox of the widow.

The needy are turned from the path; the poor of the earth hide together.

Look, they go out in the desert like wild donkeys; they seek their prey; the desert is food for them.

They harvest in the field without permission, and they glean the vineyard of the wicked.

They lie down naked without clothing, and without covering in the cold.

They are drenched by the mountain storms, and without shelter they embrace the rock.

They snatch from the oppression of the orphan, and they seize from the poor.

They walk naked without clothing, and the hungry carry a bundle of grain.

Between their walls they press out oil; they tread winepresses and are thirsty.

From the city the dying groan, and the soul of the wounded cry out, and Elohim does not pay attention to their wrongdoing.

These are the rebels against light; they have not known His ways, and they have not remained in His paths.

At dawn the murderer rises; he kills the poor and the needy, and at night he is like a thief.

The eye of the adulterer watches for twilight, saying, 'No eye will see me,' and he puts a veil over his face.

He digs into houses in the darkness; they seal themselves up during the day; they do not know light.

For together, morning is like the shadow of death to them; for they know the terrors of the shadow of death.

He is swift on the surface of the water; their portion is cursed on the earth; they do not turn toward the way of the vineyards.

Drought and heat snatch away the waters of snow; Sheol has sinned.

The womb will forget him; the worm will feed on him; he will no longer be remembered, and injustice will be broken like a tree.

He oppresses the barren woman who does not bear, and he does not do good to the widow.

But Elohim draws the mighty with His power; they rise up, but they do not trust in life.

He gives him security and he leans on it, and His eyes are on their ways.

They are exalted for a little while, and then they are gone; they are brought low like everything; they are gathered up and fall like the head of a grain stalk.

And if not, who will prove me a liar and make my word worthless?
