And the two messengers came to Sedom in the evening, and Lot was sitting in the gate of Sedom. And Lot saw, and he rose to meet them, and he bowed down with his face to the ground.

And he said, 'Please, my lords, turn aside into the house of your servant, and lodge, and wash your feet, and you will rise early and go on your way.' And they said, 'No, but in the street we will lodge.'

And he urged them greatly, and they turned aside to him, and they came into his house. And he made for them a feast, and he baked unleavened bread, and they ate.

Before they lay down, the men of the city, the men of Sedom, surrounded the house, from young man to old man, all the people from the end.

And they called to Lot and said to him, 'Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us, and let us know them.'

And Lot went out to them at the entrance, and he shut the door behind him.

And he said, 'Please, my brothers, do not do evil.'

Look, I have two daughters who have not known a man. Let me bring them out to you, and do to them as is good in your eyes. Only concerning these men, do not do a thing, because for this reason they came under the shelter of my roof.'

And they said, 'Step aside!' And they said, 'This one came to sojourn, and now he judges! Now we will do evil to you more than to them.' And they pressed hard on the man Lot, greatly, and they came near to break the door.

And the men stretched out their hand and brought Lot into the house to them, and they shut the door.

And the men who were at the entrance of the house, they struck with blindness, from young to old, and they grew weary of finding the entrance.

And the men said to Lot, 'Do you have anyone else here? A son-in-law, and your sons, and your daughters, and all who belong to you in the city, bring them out from this place.'

'Because we are about to destroy this place, because their outcry is great before יהוה, and יהוה has sent us to destroy it.'

And Lot went out and spoke to his sons-in-law, the ones who were marrying his daughters, and he said, 'Rise up, go out from this place, because יהוה is about to destroy the city.' And it was as if he was joking in the eyes of his sons-in-law.

And as dawn broke, the messengers urged Lot, saying, 'Rise up, take your wife and your two daughters who are found here, lest you be consumed in the guilt of the city.'

And he hesitated. And the men took hold of his hand, and of the hand of his wife, and of the hand of his two daughters, because of יהוה's compassion on him, and they brought him out and settled him outside the city.

And it happened as they brought them out, he said, 'Escape for your life! Do not look behind you, and do not stop in all the plain. Escape to the mountain, lest you be consumed.'

And Lot said to them, 'Please, my Adonai.'

'Look, your servant has found favor in your eyes, and you have magnified your kindness which you have done with me to save my life. And I cannot escape to the mountain, lest the disaster overtake me and I die.'

'Look, please, this city is near to flee to, and it is small. Please let me escape there. Is it not small? And my life will live.'

And he said to him, 'Look, I have lifted up your face concerning this matter also, not to overthrow the city about which you have spoken.'

'Hurry, escape there, because I cannot do a thing until you come there.' Therefore, the name of the city was called Tsowa'ar.

The sun came out upon the earth, and Lot came to Tsowa'ar.

And יהוה rained upon Sedom and upon Amorah sulfur and fire from יהוה out of the heavens.

And he overthrew these cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and the vegetation of the ground.

And his wife looked from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.

And Avraham rose in the morning to the place where he had stood before יהוה.

And he looked out upon the face of Sedom and Amorah, and upon all the face of the land of the plain, and he looked, and behold, smoke of the land was rising like the smoke of a furnace.

And it happened when Elohim destroyed the cities of the plain, Elohim remembered Avraham, and He sent Lot out from the midst of the overthrow, when He overthrew the cities in which Lot lived.

And Lot went up from Tsowa'ar and lived in the mountain, and his two daughters were with him, because he was afraid to live in Tsowa'ar. And he lived in the cave, he and his two daughters.

And the older daughter said to the younger, 'Our father is old, and there is no man in the land to come to us in the way of all the land.'

'Come, let us make our father drink wine, and let us lie with him, and let us preserve offspring from our father.'

And they made their father drink wine that night, and the older daughter went in and lay with her father, and he did not know when she lay down or when she rose.

And it happened the next day, the older daughter said to the younger, 'Look, I lay with my father last night. Let us make him drink wine tonight also, and you go in, lie with him, and let us preserve offspring from our father.'

And the two daughters of Lot conceived from their father.

And the older daughter bore a son, and she called his name Mo'av. He is the father of Mo'av until this day.

And the younger daughter also bore a son, and she called his name Ben-Ami. He is the father of the sons of Ammon until this day.
