Note on the phone: This shot is provided just to display the complex sky cover for spotting the moon, and was taken just before the first sighting (with the naked eye). 6 shots were taken, but the resolution for discerning the moon was extremely poor in the photos taken on my cell phone. The first sighting was at 6:31 pm (AZ time = Pacific Daylight Time), and the last sighting was at 7:04 pm, as the moon faded away into a low layer of forest fire smoke.
The western sky had a very complex cloud cover, comprised of intermittent layers of remnant monsoon clouds, layers of chemtrails (geoengineered aerosol sprays), and layers of forest fire smoke. KR (1 observer)

Seen from the hill south of the Merkey meeting house, Bethel PA; the moon was far lower and thinner than anticipated, but still clearly visible without optical aids. WS (4 observers)
