4 June
Jerusalem, Israel
At the time of this writing, we are not aware of any positive new moon sightings from Israel this evening (4 June 2019), even though the moon had an illumination of 2.11% and a lag of 69min. The photo at the top of this report was taken by myself from our observation point in Jerusalem this evening.
I will, of course, send out an update should any positive confirmations come in later. However, if no positive reports come in from tonight’s observation:
For those who began last month on May 6, 2019 in the evening, tonight is the end of the 29th day of the month and therefore tomorrow evening would be the beginning of the new month by default.
For those who began last month on May 7, 2019 in the evening, tonight is the end of the 28th day of the month, and therefore you would want to check and see whether the new moon will be sighted tomorrow evening.
For the sake of those who began last month on May 7, 2019 in the evening, we will go out and look again tomorrow evening for the moon.
On behalf of all of us who rely on these reports, we wish to thank everyone in Israel who looked for the new moon this evening!
Regardless of which day you will be starting the month, make sure to make it a great one!
