Rosh Chodesh Sameach! (Happy New Month)
Roseau, Dominica
New moon evening greetings to all.
Sunset was at 18:29 and there was thin clouds at the sunset-start of my searching for the new moon this Wednesday evening 16th May 2018 that I sighted at 18:35 from Roseau, Dominica. A female friend of mines, I showed the new moon as soon as she came by where I was standing concerning her occupation and greeted me, after a few seconds, was able to have sighted it at 18:43 before she had time return immediately to her occupation. Sis. Josian Boyd messaged me via WhatsApp at 18:53, informing me that she has sighted it.
It’s waxing age at sunset was about 34 hours 41 minutes old.
It is the evening the new moon has been seen with the naked eye and so confirmed at the mouth of two or three witnesses that the start of a new month is determined in the Bible from that evening-sunset. This is why it is important to make it a point of duty to always look out for the new moon each month to know exactly the evening of its first appearing to one’s local region and start the biblical lunar month accordingly.
This Wednesday evening 16th May 2018 sighting of the new moon therefore makes this week Thursday 17th May 2018 the new-moon-first-day of the biblical lunar third (3rd) month Sivan, until sunset.
This is the moon during which the Holy Spirit was given from heaven on the annual Pentecost (fiftieth day) Sabbath Feast of Weeks and the Atlantic hurricane season is officially always marked off to begin with the Roman calendar first (1st) day of the sixth (6th) month of June.
Happy new moon day to each and everyone of us, near and far!
