13th or Aviv New Moon 2024

11 March 2024

Shalom Aleichem,

Many observers in Israel, the United States, and Mexico for this new moon. Which new moon is this 13th or 1st?

Based on available evidence, including the Devorah’s Date Tree, Abib of God observations, and most barley reports, it seems unlikely that barley has reached the Aviv stage (flowering; reference [6 to 8 Zadok]) by this new moon. Therefore, it might be best to wait until April for the start of Aviv. I’ll continue monitoring reports for the next week and consider any new information. Please review this with your family and let me know if there’s a report I missed that you consider conclusive.
